I wrote these lyrics because when I was going to elementary school, I went to an Armenian school. We learned what every other kid learns at that age, but we were also immersed in the Armenian culture and history. It wasn’t until I went to public school in the 7th grade and cracked open a history book, when I realized there was no mention of the Armenian Genocide anywhere. It was a shocking revelation to see that my peers from different backgrounds had no idea about this massive part of history. Today, we remember and educate.
Today marks the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Our souls are awakened, more than ever. Take a minute of your day in respect to all the victims regardless of your religion or belief. Peace over everything 🇦🇲 LINK TO FULL SONG IN BIO 👆🏼🔥🤘🏼
- #repost from @rza@wutangclan RZA and the Wutang give our blessings and support for families effected by the Armenian Genocide. The pains of history can have extreme or subtle effects on our present and future. The worst aspect is the denial, if we can acknowledge all of the wrong it can put us on the path to the right.
This song by Achozen featuring RZA, Shavo Odadjian and Kinetic 9 is dedicated to the memories of those families effected by the Armenian Genocide and other genocides being committed around the world. These genocides are driven by hate borne racism. April 24th marks this dreadful day in Armenian history.
The song is produced by the RZA and samples Harout Pampoukjian, a hero and legend of Armenian music.
