One of my favourite sunset memories was this one, could literally imagine the sunset having a Phoenix flying out of it.
It was such a beautiful sight.
This concludes this chapter of the story. Next chapter = Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
I spent 2 hours in the gym yesterday doing legs/glutes and although my bum is totally feeling it today 🔥🍑 I feel so good! I used to be so good and disciplined about going to the gym and working out - I was quite independent and would plan my own workouts 🙋🏼♀️💪🏽 but since starting my full-time “9-5” job I’ve struggled to motivate myself to go to the gym even when I do have the time 🕐 So I asked my boyfriend (he’s a personal trainer 🙋🏻♂️🙌🏼) to put together a gym programme for me to follow for the next few weeks 🏃🏼♀️ which means I don’t have to plan the session myself and is one less reason to not get my ass to the gym!🏋🏼♀️ Sometimes you just need someone else to help motivate you and there’s no harm in asking for a little help! 😁
Our time at Sri Lanka has come to an end. We spent the last 30 minutes sitting in front of our phones trying to find an interesting way to describe the country and what we feel about our three weeks there, but we came to the realization that we don’t have much to say.
Besides an incredible sunrise at Sigiriya, a troubled but beautiful train ride between Kandy and Ella, and 5 days living under a tropical storm that didn’t let us explore the beaches at the south of the island, most of our time was spent at the resort near Hingurana. Maybe we should feel sad that for the first time on our trip we’re leaving a country with a lot of things still to see and learn, but the truth is that we are ok with it.
We got to meet some of the kindest people living at the island and with them we had a great time working, laughing, learning how to play Rummikub, cheating on Rummikub, betting on who would be the first to be eaten by a crocodile while swimming at the lake, sharing delicious meals and celebrating Daniela’s birthday.
It's true that there's a lot of things at the island that we missed, but in the end that only gives us a reason to come back one day
