A most memorable and magical moment - backstage with @alexarayjoel before her special performance and serenade @thegarden for @billyjoel birthday show. Wearing #MimiProber Atelier watercolor botanical custom corset constructed with organic peace silk; this signature flower dye technique has an extra special meaning for this piece - it was naturally dyed using roses given to her by her father during the Valentine’s Day show. A forever heirloom and an honor to custom commission.🌹♥️ Paired with custom fingerless gloves (c. 19th century Alençon style lace), black and white diamond with sapphire reclaimed vintage stones organically set in hand sculpted cuff bracelets and hoop earrings handcrafted from antique sterling silver c. 19th-early 20th century, from our #FineJewelry collection. #Stylist + #glam ( #hair and #makeup ) @darlingcait
Thank you to the dream team✨
At #MimiProber we are connected to preservation, process, ethical, and mindful creation - honoring the hands that created the art; both past and present. #EarthDay and #FashionRevolution week is a time to reflect alongside others, and tribute those we work with (the artisans, farmers, and mills who create with us to develop our signature custom textiles and collection silhouettes, and help us enable our zero-waste closed loop and transparent production process), and to share in the stories of the forgotten #AntiqueTextiles that are so integral to our philosophy and collection development. Thank you for traveling with us on this sustainable journey; we continue to believe in preserving handcraft and creating a brighter future for people and planet.

Repost @voguerunway: “ #MimiProber is Staten Island’s best-kept fashion secret. In business since 2014, this FIT graduate is deeply committed to sustainability and to the preservation of traditional crafts and historic textiles. Her aim? To make “modern heirlooms handcrafted with antique materials.” She's particularly drawn to lace. “I am fascinated by the process of lace-making and happy there is a small movement and revival in the craft world,” says Prober, who adds that “the best elements of rescuing and reviving antique laces are the stories that you can find with them; written documentation of the lace-maker, the family, the event. This is important for me to document, preserve, and share.”
Thank you @the_lbp for the incredible honor to share our story with you ✨
