The past couple weeks have been "full on" with the van. It's been a love hate experience that has definitely taught me a lot along the way. Big thanks to everyone who has lent a helping hand. And a special thanks to our friends Kattie and Mitch for letting us live in their back yard.
If it's broke... FIX IT!

Oh, did you think this story was over?

After quite a day, this was my favorite moment for sure. We broke down for the 2nd time during this trip and I spent hours fixing ol'Bertha right there on the side of Main Street in Spearfish. Once we were rolling again and I thought the day would end smoothly my dogs not only decided to run away but came back after rolling in something super dead, which of course caused us more work washing them... Going to Crow Peak Brewery felt well deserved and when the owner and brewer shared a beer and stories I had pretty much forgotten all the troubles of the day. As we were leaving he showed up with a slab of beer for us to take back to Utah. He put it down on the table and I think Dagwood got as excited as I did and jumped right up there on the table to say thank you. Crow Peak Brewery is full of great beer and great people. @crowpeakbrewing

I was sitting in a burrito shop yesterday watching this storm blow in and thinking that the day was now a wash and I wouldn't be able to do much. I texted a friend to see if they too wanted to eat a burrito and their response was "Sorry we're chasing waterfalls hard right now!". So glad I got off my ass a went chasing waterfalls!! Thanks for the motivation @callenhearne and @abbihearne

Here is a view from the office. Wade was sharing his stoke for climbing and for life in general today. It’s great getting to work with so many amazing people who are constantly helping to inspire the world around them.

I'm not always the best at expressing things that mean a lot to me and well, this is one of those things that means a whole lot. But for some reason this gal agreed to marry me 3 years ago and now we live a life full of desert, dogs, and dust... lots of dust. It's not always pretty but it's always worth it. I can't express just how lucky I feel for every day I get to spend by her side.

This dirty, wet, and mossy boulder is where climbing began for me. I grew up living close to this rock and when I went away to college for the first time I had crippling low self esteem. I was a pretty lost kid during those years. Often times without telling anyone I would go back to my neighborhood and spend the night sleeping on my crash pad underneath the overhang of this boulder. I'd spend hours working out moves and burning away my frustrations and anxieties. It was a place where I could push away some of those negative emotions and replace them with a more positive approach to being myself. Climbing was something that I pursued and I've been fortunate enough to live in areas around the country where the rock quality would put this boulder to shame... but this big ol dirty rock will always hold a place that is near and dear.
