Amsterdam- the most magical place in the world! The first thing we did was indulge in a fresh, homemade stroopwafel, which somehow tastes even more delicious than the store bought stroopwafels. After that we walked about 10 miles around the city, stumbling upon the most random shops and of course the magnificent museums. We chose to go to the Moco Museum, with the Van Gogh museum coming in as a close second. If only we had more time! I will definitely be returning to this lovely city someday, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Dublin, Ireland- the Old Library at Trinity College. Small tidbit about myself, I have adored libraries since I was a kid. I grew up in a small town, so the library was one of the places my parents took me for fun. Because of that history, I will never conform to a reading device such as a Kindle, because I just love the feel of an old book. The Old Library at Trinity College in Dublin is the most magnificent library I have stepped foot in. Books lined the floor to ceiling, holding histories and rarities. Trinity College is also home to the Book of Kells. Check it out if you’re heading to Dublin!

Galway, Ireland- After driving through the lush countryside, we found ourselves here. A town packed with college kids, picnicking with beer by the water, and colorful storefronts for what seemed like miles. The streets were full of music, culture, and travelers. The accents were not nearly as thick, and Ed Sheeran was nowhere to be seen, but we did stay in the Air BnB where Galway Girl was filmed!

The Cliffs of Moher- the stunning view which is a must-see during a trip to Ireland. We found a secret entrance for parking away from the tourism center (a two minute walk to this view), and spent about an hour exploring the area. If I could go back, I would definitely do more hiking here, but I would also bring warmer clothes! It gets pretty blustery up on the cliffs.

It’s FINALLY Friday! I am hosting a friend this weekend, and showing her all of the Wisconsin things. She’s originally from Britain, and it’s her goal to see all 50 states, so I’m helping her do exactly that! What are you doing this weekend?!

County Clare- not the location in Ireland, but the pub in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A few weeks ago, @experiencemke sent me on an adventure to check out the Street Car Tour by Milwaukee Food and City Tours. One of the stops was County Clare. This was the perfect send off for my official trip to Ireland. Of course Guinness was on the menu, as well as Irish stew. Go listen to the Experience Milwaukee podcast episode to hear more about @mkefoodtour. This is a very fun episode including some random but hilarious tangents with @steve__glynn and @adamderus. Oh, and lastly, I’m looking for cheese curd recommendations for my next Experience Milwaukee adventure, so let me know your favorites!

Limerick, Ireland- After a night in Blarney, I hopped into the right side of a car and drove on the left side of the road to Limerick! This was a town that I absolutely adored. A few hours spent admiring another castle, strolling along the cute downtown, and checking out a fantastic Irish pub called The Curragower. I may sound like a broken record, but this is some of the best food I had in Ireland. The photo is of their chowder, which was packed full of shellfish and white fish. It was so rich and creamy that I could barely finish the entire cup. I feel like I would have let my fellow foodies down if I didn’t finish it, however, so alas, I did.

Blarney, Ireland- Home of the centuries old Blarney Castle and Blarney Stone. Also a tiny village with one pub, and maybe four other restaurants, one being a Chinese restaurant. Of course I went to the castle, almost got a concussion climbing into a cave, and of course I kissed the Blarney stone (swipe to see this). The grounds were home to beautiful gardens, a waterfall, and a really interesting poison garden which was an educational garden growing poisonous plants. Go check it out if you adventure in Ireland!

I’m home now, and had a day of catching up on rest. Time to tell my stories! I had a super busy April, between traveling to San Diego, Ireland, and Amsterdam. During the EuroTrip, I visited nine different towns. Over the upcoming weeks, I’m going to be documenting my adventures.
Cork, Ireland- This was one of my favorite stops, and will definitely be back some day. I knew the first meal I wanted in Ireland was fish and chips. This was the perfect introduction to immerse myself into the Irish experience. I learned that fish and chips is also served with “mushy peas.” I tried a lot of different variations on this throughout the trip, but this photo encompasses the best. The fish is lightly breaded, the chips were fried to perfection (possibly twice fried, as I’ve had in other restaurants who know how to cook their tators), and the mushy peas tasted like they were picked from a garden nearby. A perfect start to the Ireland adventure!
