Red-browned finch trying to hide in the shrubs. These are common throughout SE Australia. This one was spotted in the Field of Mars Reserve, watch my latest YouTube to see more birdlife from this location (link in Bio)
There will always be some crows in your life pecking at you, trying to bait you into a fight. But the only way to argue with a crow is to come down to their level. You’re an eagle; quit wasting your time with crows. .

Australia has Black, Europe White, but I never realised there was such a thing as a Black-necked White Swan until heading to Patagonia. Hundreds lined the bay near Puerto Natales, Chile in December. Many had their offspring with them, some, like this one, preferring to keep their feet out of the frigid waters.
GREATER ROADRUNNER 💨 Roadrunners are members of the cuckoo family and they make some mighty strange sounds. This one is "clacking," a way to maintain contact with his mate who was a few yards away. Not all roadrunners live in the desert! There's a healthy population of them here in Ventura.
The first time I saw this species was up at Point Pelee National Park in Ontario three years back, a great place to find such a fitting bird. These warblers are few and far between when compared to other warbler species making them a very sought after bird by many. A handful of people got to observe this guy with me and the joy he brought them was something I won’t forget from that group. 🌲
Canada Warbler (Cardellina canadensis)
Did you know that Upupa and epops are respectively the Latin and Ancient Greek names for the Hoopoe; which are, like the English name, onomatopeic forms which imitate the cry of the bird !? 🐦 📷@shlomow
