After hitting my goal weight in April, I’m surprised how easy it’s been to maintain it. I have many friends who are hesitant to try the program because they are worried that it won’t work for them or that they will gain their weight back when they get off. I get it, I had those same hesitations before I jumped all in. But after 4 months of my new healthy lifestyle, I don’t crave the crappy food I used to, I don’t eat as many chips as I can before they’re gone (this habit developed as a kid with 4 other siblings sharing popcorn or chips with me- the faster you eat, the more you get. #survivalofthefastest 😜). When I have a glass of wine, I’m content with just one. It’s crazy, you guys! When you train yourself to have a healthy relationship with food, and when you’re willing to develop a healthy mind, everything flows from there. Don’t be afraid to put in the work, friends. You can do hard things. Although I would not call this program hard. Hey You! Yes YOU!
You may have made New Year resolutions, set some goals or planned something that should have been implemented or completed by now. Life may have happened and got you off track. You may have started and not finished. You may have had one too many of excuses!
My mindset is by far my biggest improvement. Working out and nutrition are hard as mommas. For me this was my biggest downfall.
I started to get up 4 hours, I repeat 4 hours before I had to be at work!
I get a lot of questions on why so early!? I’ll tell you why! Most of my family is still sleeping. This is a bonus, I don’t have anyone to ask me questions, kids needing something ect! If for some reason, I sleep in a bit or one of the kids are up and need something, I still have the time to do ME!!! I am not doing this for anyone else! I am doing this for me!
Working on me, not only helps me mentally or physically but also helps me be a stronger, happier person for my family!
Results are in......my before and after pics are not the best but here are the measurements!

Day 1 of a program that I agreed to do with my wife. We usually workout at different times and are doing different routines a lot of times. She’s been thinking about trying this one for awhile and I did it last year so it’s a chance to get our sweat on together. I resurrected my compression pants, or leggings as my daughter calls them, because today’s routine used resistance bands for some of the exercises and the hairs on my legs are not a fan 😂 I’m also not sure why my wife didn’t want to give me a hug and take a picture with me when we finished. This morning after my devotions, I found this quote that really spoke to my soul. It’s about FOCUS and putting your time and efforts into what God is speaking to you heart. Often times, it’s the other voices that pull me away. They can be voices of internal doubt (have I done enough?) or the voices of those who offer “good advice” and tell me what they think I should be doing. Im sure you can relate.
On this beautiful Monday morning, I quieted myself for a few moments to hear what He is saying. God has not changed His promise to lead and guide us by His Spirit. He wants us to be PRESEENT and FOCUS in what He has called and assigned for us to do. It could be at home with the kids or speaking to an audience of women who need encouragement or being there to console a friend.
Whatever it is…. Be present in the season you are in. Engage in it without distraction. Do the THING He has assigned to you.

I've slipped off the wagon a bit recently food wise though I have kept active and getting my steps in which has helped me maintain instead of gaining weight 💪 I'm not going to beat myself up over it though because life is too short to not enjoy yourself I'm just going to focus on getting myself plenty of healthy food in to make myself feel better in myself. Trying to Branch out a bit with my lunch choices I find these are the hardest as dinners we plan and breakfast is easy or if it's a morning I'm working I tend to go without (oops). I used to not only believe these three fitness myths I used to teach them. Dont be duped...there is a better way!
I’m going to keep telling myself this when I show you one of my new ranges on Friday. Truthfully I’m scared but I know that feeling will only be temporary.

One year seems like a life time away when you are at your highest weight. One year feels to far away cause you want change now. Let me tell you that one year has past in a blink of an eye! Starting out you will face MANY struggles! From others judging your new lifestyle. Others thinking ah ok here she goes again with another failed attempt at weight loss. There will be family gatherings, holidays and work functions. There will be celebrations and birthdays and New Years. Soooo many opportunities to make an excuse to go back to old ways of eating. Sooo many times you will have to say no to your old vices. Soooo many times saying no thank you to grandma offering you a piece of her home made pie. I tell you now all those no thank yous are WORTH it. I DO NOT regret saying no. At times in the beginning saying no was so hard. It felt like a physical pain. The emotions I would feel when I said no but everything inside me way saying come on Amanda eat it. There were times I would cry I felt food and old bad habits had such a grip on me. A year I feel I have turned into my own expert on me. I have learned so much. I have made amazing friends and connections here in the #ketocommunity sharing my journey at first was terrifying. I have always dealt with my obesity alone and ashamed. If you want to make a change in your life it is possible. You need to be dedicated AND ready to deal with all that comes with it. It wasn’t always easy as it is now. There ARE greener pastures on the other side. ONLY YOU can make that happen. ONLY YOU can stick it through. There will be many bumps in the road but let me tell you! If you fall off the keto wagon or fall off your new lifestyle get right back on that horse!
