Another day in the books of #ywadedicate with @adrienelouise. When I do this pose, in my mind, everything is perfectly straight and it looks exactly like how Adriene does it! It’s ok that neither one is true. No matter how it looks when you do it, your only job is to get on the mat. And I encourage you to share your practice so it inspires others!.
Once yoga was done, I did some body weight leg work:
Side leg lifts
Single leg bridges
Forward and side lunges
Very assisted pistol squats.
For all my #running peeps, if you do that consistently, it helps build strength and ward off injuries! I did 20 reps of everything for each leg except the pistols squats, for which I did 10 each.
Proprioception and Interoception. The dancers/yogi’s 6th sense. Knowing exactly where all parts of your body are within space at all times and what is going on internally as well. Involving the Central Nervous System In your practice and training helps improve your movement, avoid injuries, have better control and helps you with self awareness as well as awareness of others. Fascinating stuff! 🖤🖤
Good vibes now also available also for men! 🤩

Dear Yoga Teachers,
I have a question for you, if you don’t feel comfortable commenting below you can write me a DM ❤️
The question is:
Do you feel comfortable going to practice in a local yoga studio that is not the one you are working with?
Or better. Do the local yoga studios give you the opportunity to practice even if you are in “competition”? In a small town like mine the competition is very aggressive 😅
I want to keep practicing Ashtanga but I feel the need to find a teacher that I can trust and can help me in my practice.
Since in my city I’m the only one who teaches Ashtanga, I looked in the nearest city and I found two studios.
I wrote them an email and a message and... I didn’t get any answer 🥺in days..
Of course I don’t have the intention to go there a steal students, but I really need hands on adjustments and to be guided deeper into this journey.
Unfortunately my teachers are all in India and I don’t have the opportunity to practice with them often.
In my classes there are 2 yoga teachers and I’m always super happy to talk with them and speak about yoga and our experiences, sharing knowledge.
I will keep on going my selfpractice but I was curious to hear about your experience 🙏🏻
Are you a competitive yoga teacher?
Do you practice in other studios?
Do you allow teachers to practice with you?
Thank you 😊 .

Monday’s mantra: Inhaling the future, exhaling the past. 🙏
Getting bendy in a variation of uttanasana (Standing forward bend). This feels both revitalising and therapeutic... ♥️ Happy Monday funday everyone!
Two of the most powerful things I’ve learned from my physical yoga practice have both come from my FAILS.
The first lesson came from all the ‘failures’ that I’ve overcome. I discovered that I was stronger & more resilient than I realized. And that with each ‘fail’ I was actually learning & growing.
Take this very pose for example. I remember the first time I saw it & tried to do it. And I couldn’t.
But with each attempt I grew stronger, became more open. And then one day this pose did become accessible, and it’s been an enjoyable part of my practice ever since.
The second, and perhaps even more valuable lesson, came from all the ‘fails’ that I still have not overcome.
I learned that it’s OK. It’s 100%, completely fine to NOT be able to achieve everything I want to.
That there will be hundreds, maybe even thousands of postures & transitions that I will never access in this lifetime... and that is totally fine. 🙌🏼
That I will always be enough, regardless of what I can or cannot do.
That it doesn’t make my practice - or me - any less valuable. It just is.
I guess my point is, I know how easy it is to start comparing ourselves with all of these ‘perfect’ or ‘impossible’ postures we regularly catch sight of while scrolling through our feeds.
You may find that some will become a part of your regular practice while others may forever allude you.
And either way is 100% FINE.
Enjoy what you see, find inspiration where you will, but never forget that you are enough, exactly as you are.
