Today the Piemonte Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Trieste, honour the 170th aniversary of the Sforzesca Battle, in which the corp obtained its first silver medal of military valor. The Sforzesca Battle (fought near Vigevano) was one of the few battles won by the kingdom of Sardinia during the first italian indipendence war. The Piemonte regiment, in fact, got to hold alone with courage and determination the whole Austrian column, for a whole day. A brave action that unfortunately won't be enough to stop for long the advancement and the victory of the Austrian troops under General Radetzky, that will swiftly take back the control of northern and central Italy.
This is my WW1 US m1912 summer cotton tunic. The name «Thayer» is written in the collar.
Very few of them were actually used on the front. They were used when the soldiers were still in the US, and in some intances during their journey to Europe and their arrival to France. The soldiers were basically given a new set of everything including the wool uniform, and the cotton uniform would then be traded in.
These tunics would later be sent to returning doughboys, especially those who lived in the south.

Super rare original pair of early M33 lace-up jackboots (Schnallenstiefel). The M33 marching boots were oficially discontinued in 1935 but still in use in the early stages of the war and can be seen in many photos from the invasion of the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium an the Netherlands. They are complete with their original leather laces. One of the boots is showing an unit marking '2./JR19' (Infanterie-Regiment 19), this regiment took part in the invasion of Poland 1939 and Belgium in May 1940. Extremely hard to find original pair of early M33 jackboots! .

This photo shows the different German-made @bmwmskill vehicles used by the werhmacht during the Second World War. Indeed during the conflict the big companies had to participate in the war effort, some already existing vehicles were produced in larger quantities for the army and others were even exceptionally created (like the tanks for example). This picture takes the example of Germany but these actions were also active in other countries, such as Jeep and Ford for the United States or Renault and Peugeot for France.

Attending the historic concert in aid of villages in Africa, performers such as Mercury helped raise millions of dollars in London as well as the US where a dual concert was held at the John F. Kennedy Stadium. "Live Aid", or the "Eighties Woodstock" as the concert quickly came to be known as – had made history before it even started. They scheduled over sixty of the most popular stars to rock the stages and they managed to raise over $4 million dollars for the starving and drought-stricken in Africa. There were over 1.5 billion people from across the world watching on television at home.
