So, we all know I’m obsessed with @ziwipets food and this month for our @chewy influencers box, we got to sample Ziwi Peak treats. A little larger than the food, they were a little easier to deliver consistently than the food and Reaper of course loved them. Great ingredients, air-dried, and I don’t have to worry about what I’m giving him. Ziwi Peak is a reward I always keep in cabinets because I haven’t yet met a dog that didn’t find them to be high value. We’ll definitely buy again! *I received this product free of charge from @chewy in exchange for my honest review*
• it takes grace to remain kind in cruel situations • I realized something this last week with all my one year ago Facebook memories popping up. Of course the people I shared those memories with popped up as well. When I clicked on their profile the first thing in my mind was “wow they look so happy, and I’m glad they do”. Despite the fact we are no longer in each others lives nor on the same page, it takes so much to wish someone well after things were so sour. I’m so proud of myself for that being the first thing that popped into my head. • now enjoy Super Steve and his Scuba Goggles 🤣

Kodi’s training is going really well! He’s officially been with us for a week and knows sit, down, stay, come, center and deep pressure therapy.
When his training is finished, he will be available for sale.
Changed my little lady from fieldtracking to forest. So, now we are getting use to a new surface and keywords are #motivation and #selfesteem . Thats why all the objects are for now little boxes with tasty food and her favourite balls.

REST IN PEACE K9 ACE - EOW 5/18/2018 💙
It was a standard morning routine… A simple phrase “You wanna go to work” that would erupt a quiet morning into a flurry of scrambling paws, whining, and stampeding to the door as my partner “Ace” scrambled to the front driveway.
This morning as I got dressed to head to the Golden 1 Center for Ace and I to conduct a preventative explosives sweep, that phrase “You wanna go to work” was met with an eerie and very sad silence. As I looked at my partner he stared back at me but could not move. His eyes bright with desire, however his body just wound not respond. The cancer had taken its toll and now prevented him from doing what he most wanted to. Be with me. Every movement was met with pain. I knew it was time. I had to say goodbye.
In February, Ace was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. Terminal cancer. Luckily, Ace was unaware and unphased. Working K9’s do possess the unique and empowering ability to not feel sorry for themselves. To his credit Ace valiantly ignored this disease every single day. In the months after his diagnosis Ace continued to engage and educate the public regarding police working dogs with appearances on Good Day Sacramento, The SPCA Doggy Dash, and our own K9 Comedy Night. Still a working crime-fighter Ace even deployed to assist patrol units and capture a burglar just weeks ago. Today he was on his way to use his nose to sniff out explosives to keep the community safe.
