Swimming out to get this photo with my camera in one hand and the other helping me tread water probably goes down on the list of dumb things I’ve done to take a photo, but it’s cool because I caught a shot of Eli probably peeing right next to me. #whyisthewaterwarm
The history of North America can be traced back to the days of New France, and today I had the honour of seeing some of the artefacts recovered from various archeological digs around Québec City.
I was at the artefact repository with some descendants of Louis Hébert and Marie Rollet, the first family to settle (1617) in New France. We were shown several pieces recovered from the site of the first Hébert-Rollet home in Upper Town (Old Québec). Bottles, glass beads, clasps and so much more.
I’m not going to lie, it was hard to leave. We saw a small fraction of the artefacts onsite.
