I’ve been craving hikes that end with a fabulous body of water to cool off. It’s so refreshing to work up a sweat then jump into a cold river or lake. Who has [email protected] recommendations?

Hiking in Suðuroy near the village Sandvík. Suðuroy is the southernmost of the Faroe Islands. The island covers 163.7 square kilometres. In 2017 there were 4,607 inhabitants, but there has been a gradual decline in the population numbers ever since the 1950s.
Sometimes when you are inspired you just have to create . On this particular day I was with a large group of friends and we all hiked to the most beautiful beach together . On the way I spotted this tree grove and had to leave the group to go and explore it on my own . I had to be a little anti social but the results were worth it in the end 💛 my motto is if you see inspiration , grab it intensely , make what you can of it while you can because inevitably it will always move on ......

Every day new gems are discovered within and without. Curiosity, wonder, amazement, gratitude... these are the names of the game.
Super fun day ahead tomorrow! One of my besties from Bali will be in town visiting. She’s my yoga sweat sister and I cannot wait to show her around... and of course, practice yoga...And I have faith that the sun will be shining!

It's THIRSTDAY! The day we feel the thirst for adventure more palpable on our lips than any other day of the week - per chance because the weekend, with all its microadventure-potential, looms so tantalisingly close. Never fear, the AQs are here! 👑💪🏞️🌈🤸♀️🦄
If you're living in London and looking for some Thursday entertainment, peel yourself away from the video-streaming service of your choice, straighten your crown and get your delightful derriere down to the @arcteryxpiccadilly store to join us for an evening of all things HIKING! Our very own @vanessajrichards will share tales from walking the West Highland Way or, as she refers to it, 'slowly stumbling along the WHW'. •
"Two days left on the WHW, Scotland's most popular and arguably most beautiful trails. I had just reached the top of the infamous 'Devil's Staircase' and taking this selfie was my excuse to recover my lungs, whilst the 85year-old grandpa, who had been walking at the same speed and time as me, forged on ahead. Avec four toddler grandchildren.
As I huffed and I puffed, I thought back to the morning five days prior to starting the walk. The moment I had been glued to the edge of my bed in an overwhelming, panic-stricken anxiety attack. Ugly-crying, racing heart and all. Although I had travelled by myself many times before, and to much more outlandish places than Scotland, I was freaking out and scared. I missed my train and instead spent the next hour doubting everything I had ever done. •
So I did what everyone advises you to do - I reached out.
My amazing friends received barely audible, virtual snot&tear-filled voicenotes and by the time I had written half of the Facebook post for our AQ group, something shifted. The fear was still there, so was the anxiety and so was my sense of humour. My rainbow-sparkly positivity took over. Together we grabbed the scary feelings by the hand and ran to the station to catch the next train to Glasgow. # 🌈✨☀

I think this is him telling me he’s done with pictures and wants to go back to hiking 😂🐶 loved exploring the Mt St Helens area. We hiked Ape Canyon on the SE side. It is about 10 miles out and back through forest for most of the trail. A lot of mountain bikers but I highly recommend! 🌲🌋☀️ #australianshepherd

Yellowstone is easily one of the most mind blowing places I’ve ever been to. The whole time I’m like whyyyy does this exist? 🤷🏼♀️

@kimberleyjohnson201 // “I choose mountains because immersing myself in the wild—from the desolate desert of southern Utah to the craggy coastline of Dalmatia—has instilled in me a sense of gratitude for function over form, and slowly lifted the constant self-criticism that accompanied adventures involving a bathing suit. After years of wrestling against this body of mine, I’ve begun to appreciate it for everything it allows me to do and be. It’s funny—nature has no mirrors, but does an infinitely better job at reflecting the truest and most beautiful parts of who we are.” //

Montaña de Siete Colores, also known as Rainbow Mountain, was created from mineral deposits over millions of years. It was discovered only 5 years ago after the snow melted to reveal its multi colored stripes. Might also be the secret location skittles are made... 🌈 #tastetherainbow

I think one of the biggest things we struggle with as humans is attachment. We’re attached to the image we have of ourselves and who we should be. We’re attached to the people around us and expect them to stay the same. We want the places we love to stay the same. We want to live forever. When you think about it, removing everything you’ve been taught, everything you’ve seen on the news, everything religion has taught you: what’s left? Why do we have these expectations? We know people die. We know landscapes can change in the blink of an eye. We know borders are man made and arbitrary. Life is constantly changing, and to expect it not to leads to unhappiness, insanity, and maybe even inflicting unnecessary harm on those that can’t defend themselves. Progression, evolution, growth, these are not things to be avoided. These are things to strive for. If your entire belief system revolves around the world around you staying exactly the same, you may want to get a new compass. .
