Been on a spending freeze for a minute, but made an exception for @westcoastcraft. Something about buying from small businesses, mostly women-owned, some of whom are good friends or whom I am lucky to know IRL, that feels JUST GOOD. Yanno? Obviously the things are beautiful, but it also has more meaning because you’re supporting someone’s art/craft/dream, or even just helping them keep the lights on. That’s what I want to fill my home with (slowly, thoughtfully) — things made with heart. And if I happen to know the person, too, then even better 🧡 #smallbusiness#slowfashion#womensupportingwomen

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” I find that people are constantly assuming that to have a beautiful photoshoot you need to look like someone else.
Branding is about showing yourself off. Your beauty.
Your photos and your message should be aligned. That means: if you’re a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl and your message is about effortless lifestyle, then a photoshoot in Louboutin in Paris is not aligned with the kind of impressions you want to leave people with.
You can still be in jeans and have a high end photoshoot where your photos capture you.
When you start telling the stories from your perspective, your vision, your take on things, your beauty shines through, even if there are thousands of others doing exactly what you do.
The moment you decide to be yourself, that’s the moment the magic happens, and that magic permeates every aspect of your business.
Fear. This 4 letter word can have a HUGE impact on your labor and birth.
Most parents will want to share their gruesome birth stories like it’s a badge of honor, or the way movies will portray birth has the vast majority of pregnant people scared and fearful of what their birth will be. .
It doesn’t have to be that way! Choose what you watch, look for the positive birth stories (YouTube gentle births, hypnobirths etc). Choose to listen to friends or family members birth stories that are positive. If you don’t know of anyone that has something uplifting to say it’s ok to tell them “we’ll swap birth stories after my birth”. .
If you are fearful going into labor and childbirth your body will respond as though it is something to be afraid of, and not the wonderful physiological event that it is.
Practice daily affirmations about your birth, surround yourself with positive birth stories, and visualize the type of birth you want and the likelihood of being fearful when you go into labor is a lot less likely.
Let’s change the way we view birth, and change the stories we tell! 💜🐘
Pumped to be a part of @thewomenwhodraw directory. Their founding story is a great reminder that if you don’t like something, change it. 🙏🏽❤️ @juliarothman@wendymac#womensupportingwomen#ifitsbrokefixit
‘ Like so many great things, Women Who Draw started in the bathroom. Julia Rothman was sitting and thumbing through back issues of a prominent magazine, when she noticed that most – in fact ALL – of its covers had been illustrated by men. She went through her whole collection and found that out of 55 magazine covers done in 2015, only 4 had been created by women. She called Wendy MacNaughton and together they agreed something had to be done. Instead of complaining to the press, they decided to solve the problem by increasing the visibility of all the talented female* illustrators. In early 2017, Julia and Wendy launched Women Who Draw to highlight illustration by women, women of color, LBTQ+ and other less visible groups and make it impossible for any publication, art director or editor to ever again say “I’d hire more ____ if i only knew where to find them.” ‘
*Women Who Draw is trans-inclusive and includes women, trans and gender non-conforming illustrators.

Have you ever wondered how far you can go with Amazon shopping? I ended up buying a last minute evening gown for a Gala from Amazon for $30... fabric was like my kids Halloween costumes - horrible BUT got the most compliments ever on the dress that I didn’t mention a thing 🤣🤣🤣
Find your flame, keep it lit @michelleobama .
Create moments within your moments and make sure you are living like no one is watching. .
Be inspired by others but always be yourself with knowing you are enough. .
I felt alive in this moment. Yesss!!! Always giving thanks. Alot behind this photo for me. .
My hubby had to drive me to and from this event due to recent surgery, I had to take pain meds to show up and to make it home. I had a brace on to limit my movement and my mother watched my boys. I had to stay home all day in order for me to be present to soak it all up with my sista girls. .
When you have a selfless sista girl who thinks of you and others, who gives you an opportunity to purchase your ticket before they were available to the public, you show up. Thank you Chalet Jean-Baptiste because of you, my soul smiled. You are a gem. .
I have to say, last night was a great night..... one thing I loved about what one of many things Michelle she said, Never be afraid to tell your story on how you arrived where you are. People need to hear it. Jamaal Dixon
Have you ever asked yourself how you needed to dress up in the morning ? ⠀
No, not how you WANTED to dress up.
How you NEEDED to dress up.
Do you know why ?
Because we live in a world where 100% of women have been a victim of street harassment.
And you know the worst part ?
We blame women for it.
We tell them they should not have provoked him.
When all they are guilty of, was wearing an outfit they liked.
The outfit is not even the problem.
I have been harassed wearing a skirt.
I have also been harassed wearing a huge sweater & a tracksuit.
We don’t need to change.
Men need to behave ✋🏼
