I'm totally extra, I know. One of my first riding instructors was the Grand Queen of Extra-ness and always came to our riding lessons glammed up and in -20 she broke out the bright pink bunny boots, a brighter pink ski suit, hair teased to the sky and glam asf. (which I don't even know how she got PINK bunny boots, they only come in white!) I felt very inspired by that and even if I don't wear pink often in the winter, I too aspire to extra extra-ness.
Anyways, all of that fakey introspection to explain a cape and a flower headband. I made this over Christmas with those fake flowers that come in all of the wreathes and you know what, I like it. (And then the kid stole it and it looks way cuter on her...) Capes are the number one thing I look for at the thrift store and on ebay because I just really like them. I have a small collection but the best are the ones with hoods, like this one. I usually layer them over a coat for extra warmth and wear my cross body bags underneath which works pretty well. I don't like carrying top handle bags because I always set them down and walk away..... Outfit:
Cape (ebay, no label)
Rick Owens coat (ebay)
Free people dress (ebay)
Alexander Wang boots (ebay)

ALL THE LAYERS
This fall, as you may have noticed, I've been trying to layer more. I LOVE the layered look, somehow its casual yet stylish.
Over on the blog I'm sharing what I've learned while trying to figure out my own layering style. I really think figuring out what works for your body type will make you feel great in layers. I know for me, as a top heavy gal, short layers with a sweater and jacket are not the most flattering. Working with oversized sweaters and longer jackets seems to work better.
Anyone have layering tips? Please share them! I'm still trying to find the perfect layering style. #layeringclothes#winterlayers#howtolayer#mystyle#wardrobeoverhaul
I mean honestly, is there anything more insulting than getting photobombed by a unicorn? "Ooooh look at me, I'm a mythical creature! I'm so special, check out the giant horn protruding from my forehead! Could I BE more elusive? Everybody pay attention to meeee!" So inconsiderate.
Who else takes layering in the winter super seriously? It’s totally key, especially in Toronto where the air hurts your face 🥶. I’m sharing some easy winter layering outfit ideas to keep you super warmies, but not necessarily feeling like a baked potato 🥔 in the winter months.
