The Tesseron family of Chateau Pontet Canet have been producing Cognacs of remarkable complexity and age from their vineyards in the Grande Champagne region since the 19th century. Aged in their ancient Paradis (cellar) that goes back to the Medieval ages, Tesseron only crafts Cognacs that are XO or older. ⠀
We are thrilled to be tasting four of their bottlings next Tuesday (26th March) which include:⠀
Lot 53 Perfection - a blend of Tesseron's most sublime stocks of Grande Champagne emphasising finesse and complexity⠀
Lot 29 Exception - comprised of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie from Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard grapes that has been aged 'more than three generations' in Limousin oak⠀
XO Passion - Crafted purely of Ugni Blanc and aged for 10 years in different Limousine oak barrels, a distinctively light and elegant Cognac⠀
Tressor - Created from a blend of around one hundred 'eaux-de-vie', selected for their finesse and aged for more than two generations in special barrels called ‘Tierçons⠀
Guided by Xavier Blanc from the house of Tesseron and accompanied by some delicously paired tapas from La Taperia, this is going to be a fascinating evening!⠀

🧜♀️ Seeing as our first drink as husband & wife was @no1familyestate it seemed appropriate that our first drink in our new home be similar. Rosé this time 😍 The place is a mess, we’re both tired & feeling sweaty & gross, but at least we’re drinking something rather fine 🥂
😯😦😯😦😯😦 It's taken 3 pregnancies for me to become absolutely paranoid about my post-partum tum, bum and everything else! The fiancè, bub and I will be attending an event and I've spent the last few days on Google, checking if anyone has ever just rocked up in leggings and a "breastfeeding friendly" tee and called it a day 😞.
Being uncomfortable with my body after I have given birth is something I'm NOT used to and I really hope I can shake this ridiculous amount of unnecessary pressure to lose the weight. Mamas and my fellow ladies, if you are feeling the same, let's have a slice of cake and try remind ourselves how amazing our bodies are and that we don't need to feel any pressure to look any type of way! OK?!
Ben Cooke of @cooke_brothers_wines is in the #YGOW Top 50 for 2019.
Q. Who was first person you told when you found out you were in the Top 50?
A. I told my partner Charlotte @charlotte_dalton_wines. We bought some French fizz which I drank most of as she is breast feeding.
Q. What winemaking lesson did you learn the hard way?
A. Always go backwards when going downhill on a forklift with a full load
Q. What do you find so-hot-right-now in the wine world?
A. People producing wines under their own labels and giving it a red hot crack. It gives such great diversity and interesting interpretations of vineyards and varieties, old and new.
Q. What are you exploring with your winemaking right now?
A. Extended skin contact for our dry reds. I love tannin and what it can add to a wine.
Q. What’s the one thing that you hope to be recognised for?
A. Producing elegant expressions of great vineyards that are delicious and will hopefully stand the test of time in the cellar.
Q. What’s coming on your horizon that you are most excited about?
A. Exploring more regions, vineyards and varieties.
And continue the love of making and drinking wine… #YGOWtop50#AdelaideHills

Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2007 .
These leftovers from tonight's wine tasting are quite enjoyable! Plenty of American oak, but balanced by blackberry, spice, and floral notes. Like this WAY more than their estate petite sirah, which has the same UPC code for some reason. #wine#winelover#bartender#bartenderlife

Was looking forward to see how this bottle would show as 1984 is a poor year in burgundy with wet spring delayed flowering and unfortunated with thunderstorms in summer ....
Some may say it produced thin acid wine and should be ignored . But who knows if we never try! 🙏🏻Thanks @sharadnoctilux for bringing it all the way from auz to hk to share this together. Surprisingly and not surprisingly , that nose is of such Leroy signature floral notes. A bit thin and acidic with sour plum, 話梅 and hint of dark tea touch in it, quite interesting and need to consume once open I believe, amazing to try this before Leroy become maison/domaine after 84. What’s your verdict to this if you had tried ? .
