We're back from a trip to Iowa, visiting family. (These were some of the wildflowers we saw in bloom while we were there.) We had a baby shower for my sister, and a birthday celebration for my mom. And lucky for us- it wasn't too late in the summer for fireflies and my boy was able to catch them each night before bed. (Fireflies were such a magical part of my childhood in the Midwest, and I wanted him to get to experience them too.) What I thought were allergies to ragweed turned out to be head colds instead. (Hard to not pick up gunk on planes, I guess.) We're home recuperating. That was our last big trip of the summer. I'm grateful for all the time with family we got this summer, I know it's not something to take for granted. And now I'm glad for a break from so much traveling, glad to be having some time closer to home. .

Watch the ever growing @montanagallery to be in the know about "YELLOWSTONE",
a collection of new works completed during a recent trip through this country's original National Park! [Incidentally, established in 1872, Yellowstone was also the first national park in the world]
Images coming soon to the gallery's website!
One of seven pieces I'll have in the exhibit:
12 x 9 inches, oil on linen
Early morning drive for some wildflowers from the the foot of Baker overlooking Shuksan from afar. Worth it every single time..
