Dinner is served. Lamb chevaps with kale salad. I’ve been MIA lately, work has taken over. This week sees the end of university semester one here so things should be a bit calmer for the next few weeks phew!!!! 🥗😻

Guys, this one pot vegan lentil dahl is soooo good and easy to make!! It’s lasted me 3 meals and keeps me satisfied and nourished for so long!
I kept this meal super simple and just added spinach and basmati rice!
I love making delicious bulk meals that I can use for work lunches, they usually taste better the day after too 🙌🏻 If you’d like the recipe feel free to ask and I’ll link it to you ✨😋

Yes, I take my time taking photos & Make it look sexy AF Especially when I eat from Plate. It’s important as You eat with your Eyes FIRST which stimulates enzymes + Neuro Endocrine hormones to prime the body ready to digest!
However, I work & travel like everyone else and carry around my thermal bag around London & usually open my meals to the right
Not all my food look sexy or perfected but you better know, they be What I really Eat & Nutrient Dense AF!

Zinc an important trace mineral that is needed for healthy cell division, hormone production, growth and repairment, immunity and digestion.
It’s an anti-inflammatory agent, which fights against chronic disease and prevents ageing.
Zinc deficiency results in immune dysfunction, increases susceptibility to infection and delayed wound healing. If you feel run down or tired all the time it might be time to check your zinc levels.
Organ meats such as kidney and liver, red meat such as beef and lamb, and seafood such as oysters, scallops, and other shellfish are the highest animal sources of zinc. Plant foods such as pumpkin seeds and other nuts can also be high in zinc as well, but they are less bioavailable. Remember the source of your food is important, look for pasture raised and sustainable seafood.
Dinner using the @jshealth meal guide makes cooking after work so easy! I rarely follow recipes as I LOVE to be creative in the kitchen and so this was teriyaki salmon with roasted beetroot, sweet potato and sautéed greens 💚This combo of 1/2 plate of greens, 1/3 cup of complex carbs, palm size of protein and some good fat is how most of meals are put together which leaves me feeling so nourished! This week I’m taking a few deep breaths before my meal and am focusing on eating mindfully ♡ #thejshealthprogram
So much of the focus on health these days is what you SHOULDN’T eat, but I like to switch my focus and think about all the amazing foods we can now INCLUDE and ADD to our diets 🙌🏼😌 When you fill your diet with all the fresh produce we have available at our finger tips, it shapes eating a whole food diet in a much more positive light💡
One of my favourite things to do is to try out new foods which today was Hemp seeds! You can sprinkle them on top of salads, smoothie bowls or porridge for some extra omega 3’s, protein, fibre, magnesium and B vitamins! I am also now using Hemp protein powder in smoothies by @nutraorganics. I think these will become a regular in my pantry😌👍🏽

What can we do to help ourselves if we have symptoms of post natal depletion?
As naturopaths we could go on and on! But as Mother’s we know we all need simpler solutions so that we can incorporate it easily into our lives. So here goes...!! 🌱A high quality post natal multi-vitamin is key (even if you gave birth years ago) This will give you missing nutrients and keep you topped up. 🌱Address any iron deficiencies and supplement if needed. Super sources of iron are red meat, pulses and beans, dried apricots, whole grains and dulse flakes. 🌱A good quality essential fatty acid supplement (this is super important to help rebuild your brain and support hormones). This can be fish oil or the vegan source is algal oil. 🌱Make sure you are getting iodine as this is a key nutrient for your thyroid and this special gland helps with energy production and hormonal balance. Iodine is available in sea vegetables (Hello dulse, kelp, wakame etc) AND ZINC (pepitas/pumpkin seeds, meat, seafood, wheatgerm) 🌱Think leafy greens, colourful vegetables, fresh fruit, whole grains and abundant protein 🥦🥑🥕🌽🍎 🌱Help to raise societies awareness by talking about it with family and friends and asking for help. Delegate, delegate, delegate!! 🗓 🌱Grab some self care time when you can! 💆🏽♀️ 🌱 Lastly as naturopaths we have to mention herbal medicine here! Herbal teas are a delicious and easy way to reap the benefits of herbs. We love our repletion blend of Ashwaganda, shatavari, Siberian ginseng, liquorice, lemon balm and ginger. This blend is a powerful force of energy, nervous system and adrenal support 😋 🌱Oh wait! what about Reishi mushrooms!!! 🍄🍄 AND ADRENAL HEALTH!! This is getting way too long 😬 Will have to post about adrenal herbs and tonics in another post ... watch this space 🍄💫

• So we're currently feeling like we are absolutely living the dream 🙌 Whilst staying in this little bungalow only a couple of meters back from the beach. 🌊💕Nothing fancy just a wooden hut with a double bed with a fly net and budget (but clean) cold water shower and toilet. (It does include a fan though however which we are thankful for throughout the hot nights.) We are totally in love!!! Theres just something about this simple way of living and were definitely starting to feel like real island people aha 😉
I would recommend these little bungalows to anyone, as we are having a blast and will definitely be back. (The hosts are awesome and such friendly guys to) check it out on booking.com- #lombokindahcottage ) *not sponsored*

First stop Gili Air, so looking forward to just relaxing by the most beautiful beaches and getting away from all the busyness on the streets of the main islands. No cars or scooters aloud on the Gilis 💪🏼 score, just what I need for the next couple of weeks. By foot or bicycle only! I'm thinking walks/rides to explore these tiny islands, tropical smoothies, clear ocean swims, tanning, snorkelling amongst the turtles/ rainbow fish, Healthy lunches and dins, more swimming and tanning, yoga, sunset chills, REPEAT on the daily 🤙🙌 _______________________________________________________

pretty pink raspberry chia pudding 🌸✊🏼💕 i prepped this last night and it was waiting for me after my walk this morning 🌿 i used: 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1/2 cup coconut water, 1/4 cup coconut yoghurt + 1/4 cup smashed raspberries. topped it with persimmon, banana, raw granola clusters and pomegranate seeds 🤩 enjoy your day, friends 😁💖
Macaroni Monday is baaack 👋🏻💃 Made a big bowl of creamy butternut-cashew ziti ( #zitimonday just doesn’t have the same ring 🤣), after my workout tonight and already looking forward to eating the leftovers tomorrow 😃. I shared this sauce recipe last week, but here it is again so you don’t have to go on a scavenger hunt 🔍 (note: this makes a LOT of sauce so you’ll have enough leftover for 3-4 extra meals 🙌🏻).
Creamy cashew butternut sage sauce 👉🏻 3 cups roasted butternut squash (you can prepare this however you want but just ensure the squash is tender) • 1/2 onion diced + 1 garlic clove, sautéed in 1 tsp. oil until tender • 1 cup raw cashews • 3 cups unsweetened cashew milk (or almond milk) • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper • 1/2 tsp. dried sage • 1/4 tsp. salt + fresh pepper to taste • Blend all ingredients until smooth 🍥 Tossed with @eatbanza chickpea ziti + sautéed garlicky kale 🌿, sprinkled with red pepper for a little extra kick 🌶💥.
I spent my day tackling a pile of work, answering emails, and packing moving boxes (3 down and only 30+ more to go 📦 😳), so very much looking forward to spending the rest of the night relaxing with wine and a book! I’m so excited that I have time to read for pleasure now that I’m finished with grad school 🤓. What are you reading right now? I’d love some recommendations! 📚 #banzaplusplants

PB & J BANANA ICE CREAM 😍
Turns out you can have ice cream for breakfast 💁🏼♀️the base of this is just 3 frozen bananas which I blended in my vitamix (a food processor works too) until it was completely smooth and have a soft serve consistency 👌🏻
Topped with homemade raspberry chia jam, creamy peanut butter (I’m not into that chunky nonsense 🙈), berries, hemp hearts & coconut 😋
The absolute perfect breakfast as the weather starts to warm up 🙌🏻
