One of the most important moments of the day are my mornings. Going out with Oskar to the forest, the heather or what kind of nature I find myself in at the moment.
During my time as a high school teacher this was actually one of the main things that made me long for working for myself again.
I had to be indoors all day. I had to be at school so early, I couldn't go on my morning outings. I tried, but running in the dark simply isn't... as nourishing as running or hiking when the sun is just up, the birds are singing, the smells of the awakening plants are filling the air.
Why do we put our children in between four walls all day? Why do we, as people, spend the most of our time between four walls?
Always apreciate the process... 👌
I am always happy when I have a glass of red wine. Red wine is REDIC expensive here. :( Even in the alcohol shops it's about £25 to £30 per bottle.
I cannot wait to go back home and have some great #belgianbeer and red wine!
Happy Earth Day. Hopefully you will take a moment today to reflect and pledge to make a small change. What contribution can you make? Perhaps it’s swapping harsh laundry detergent for natural soap nuts, buying in the bulk section with a reusable cloth bag or simply remembering to not leave the tap running when brushing your teeth. ✨
Small changes can lead to a lifelong habit. Big-wave change doesn’t happen overnight. I’m going to take the #hoodgoesgreen challenge and starting today, track my waste for a fortnight. I want to see how much I recycle, compost and what goes into a landfill. I’m slightly worried as to what I’ll find now that I’m looking. But I need to take a hard look so I can implement some changes. 🍃
Mother Nature needs our care every day of the year so let’s start today.
Repost @elyshaomoomy. “Some days it just flows and I feel like I’m born to do this, other days it feels like I’m trudging through hell. Every day I make the choice to show up and see what I’ve got, and to try and be better.
My morning walk with Oskar. The most important ritual of the day. Although I need to remind myself almost every time that I am now in the present, here, in the forest or on the heather fields. The work for the coming day is something for the future, the things I did yesterday are in the past.Sometimes I realise after walking for half an hour I haven't been really there.
I stop. I smell the fresh air, I let my fingers caress a nearby tree, I enjoy the patterns in the clouds and I'm present.
What do you to remind yourself to be in the here and now?

This. Exactly this. Couldn't have said it myself better.
Ever since the Ayahuasca ceremony I look in wonder at all the art we make. From Doctor Who to Shakespeare to this 'space-opera' from Dan Simmons.
When I just 'came back' I thought that all artists and creators had used some sort of psychedelic in their lifes: before they made their art.
But then I started looking at the art I made myself. Before I had my transcending experience... Damn.
I did exactly the same!
We all know exactly what is going on. We know exactly who we are and why we are here.
But in our conscious life we seem to have forgotten this.
And then we make art.
Kaboom! Magic happens.
It is simply impossible to make, create, something and NOT let our subconscious wisdom take part in it.
So, I just wanted to share this with you. I'm now back to this amazing book called "Illium" of #DanSimmons , where he combines some future life on earth, a replay of the Trojan War on Mars with Greek gods using Quantum-technology and robots on the moons of Jupiter discussing Shakespeare and Proust.
Gosh, I love these kind of stories.
"I could use a little reminder of how amazing I am when I think of my soon-to-be-ex-husband who doesn't want to put time & effort in reconnecting with me after spending 10 years together 🤦♀️ I'm sure if I would draw intuitively now I would scratch the paper to pieces hahaha 🙈" Sometimes we need a little reminder of our inner beauty.
When I draw after hearing such a story this is what comes out. Fiery, strong, bold and beautiful.
Can you use a little heads up? Comment with your story (or send it in a DM) and let me draw you your inner landscape!
Anchored away from the sea to begin again in bloom 🛥🌼

GHOST ORCHID HIGH 2001
The PBS program Wild Heart of Florida included a portion on the Ghost Orchid. That year there were only three Ghost Orchids in bloom and this one was the easiest to reach. It was twelve feet up in a tree! In order to photograph it, as well as film me photographing it, we had to take two twelve-foot ladders into the swamp: one for the videographer and one for me. I also took a thirteen-food tripod in and set it up. The image is called Ghost Orchid High because it was so high up in the tree.

When I have trouble getting out of my head I try to focus on one of my senses. I close my eyes and start feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. Or I focus on the sounds of Oskar playing in the water, the birds in the sky or the wind in the trees. I smell the explosions of forest scents when a droplet of water falls on the hot sand. I taste the lingering earth tones of the chocolate I just ate…
And when I’ve connected again with all five senses the sixth one will make herself known. I can feel life vibrating in my veins, I ‘see’ the energy swirling around me. I cannot feel anything else but bliss and happiness.
This is life, this is beauty, this is why we are here.
When do you feel alive?
