Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are. Choosing authenticity means cultivating the courage to be imperfect, to set boundaries, and to allow ourselves to be vulnerable; exercising the compassion that comes from knowing that we are all made of strength and struggle; and nurturing the connection and sense of belonging that can only happen when we believe that we are enough. Authenticity demands Wholehearted living and loving—even when it’s hard, even when we’re wrestling with the shame and fear of not being good enough, and especially when the joy is so intense that we’re afraid to let ourselves feel it. Mindfully practicing authenticity during our most soul-searching struggles is how we invite grace, joy, and gratitude into our lives.

Throwback to my most favorite picture I've ever taken. I've set this photo as the wallpaper on my phone countless times and I go back to this day in my mind every time I see it. From the clouds, to the mountains, to the small tint of purple on these tiny little flowers.. This picture is heaven for me and to this day this trail remains on my list of Top Five Best Trails in all of Washington 🙌 Elevation gain and switchbacks never looked so good 😜 Do you have a favorite trail that just never gets old? What's your favorite thing about it? 🌲 I've seen more mountain goats than people here on any given day! 🐐

My sun and stars. The most supportive, caring, and passionate soul in my life. I always struggle putting into words how you make me feel because there’s just so much I want to say, but you somehow manage to say it all with one terribly-done wink. I’d say I hope this doesn’t embarrass you too badly, but you don’t have Instagram, so I can say whatever I want about you, you’ll never know 😈 📷@maloriekerouac
A river seems a magic thing. A magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself. ~Laura Gilpin
Today was quite the adventure! We left for Paradise hoping to do some snowshoeing but knowing there was a possibility with all the storms the road may be closed. Well sadly, Longmire was the end of the road. Plan B...hike on! Started out with a pretty heavy rain that turned into tiny flying ice pellets when we crossed the Nisqually River. The wind was intense! We watched as bands of fog passed over Eagle Peak and rose out of the trees. Didn't make it all the way to our destination but the journey was beautiful!

What's one crazy thing you have done this year?
today was a good day⌇⌓ ◠ ◦
I was feeling in a bit of a funk this week. Super tired, kind of down, existential thoughts abound... and then I talked to a couple friends and it seems like there are at least a few of us feeling similarly this week.
It gave me comfort to know I’m not alone. And honestly, we’re never really alone. I think so much about life is connection. Others are often going through—or have been through—something similar. If you’re feeling this way too, know you’re not alone.
Maybe it’s the shorter, darker days.
Maybe it’s because it’s the end of the year.
Maybe it’s because the holiday season starts next week.
Maybe it’s the moon 🌙.
Whatever it is, I know these feelings pass.
Life isn’t always rainbows and roses and that’s perfectly okay.
A 9-mile hike with sunshine and fresh air was exactly the self care I needed. I’m so thankful.
“I woke up here, listening to birds chirping, at the most photogenic cabin in Washington. How epic is that 24 hour reflection!”
