We’ll be back in the perfect city of Venice in just a few weeks! I look at this picture and I can’t believe my eyes have actually seen such a beautiful sight. Last time we were there we were so cheap and didn’t do a gondola ride - this time it’s definitely happening.👍🏼 @jtaycook

Two weeks on the road full time can be tough. Add in living in a van for those two weeks. Then add in rain and extreme winds and close to freezing temperatures every single day. Then add in a brand new country which means new traffic laws. And lastly, add in a friend you met and spent a week and a half with two years ago that lives on a different continent than you. With anyone else, it would have been a nightmare.
But somehow I got lucky with @melanie__blu. I’ll always believe you never truly know a person until you travel with them. Even more so living in a van with them. But there is no one I would have rather spent these last two weeks with than Melanie. We met in Morocco when this whole journey started for me, and took on Iceland together this time around.
So here’s to the long drives filled with laughs and good music, to becoming closer as friends, and to still liking each other even when you made me work out three days in a row after hiking all of Iceland 😉
In the mood for.. Madrid.
Coming back to Madrid after 5 years of comings and goings, of travelling around the world and exploring remote lands, feels like coming back.. home.
The city has changed, and yet it is still the same Madrid of my 20s and early 30s, a city of bars and cafés on every corner, bakeries and souvenir shops everywhere, hidden small bookshops and delicious ice creams, and constant flow of white taxis and blue & red buses.
Tonight, walking through part of the downtown brought so many good memories back! The spring is in the air, and I am happy and grateful to be here, now.
De Madrid al cielo, they said. And, I cannot but agree...
Rovinj is the worst little city ever.
• Because of tiny cobbled alleyways where only locals are allowed to drive their cars into Old Town. Which means there’s essentially zero car traffic, and everyone walks around on foot. • Next up, is the food. Y’all, the fish is so fresh, it’s like it just came out of the sea. ( it did.) • Plus, there are SO MANY restaurants right along the water. Um hello Rovinj, have you heard of a guardrail?? What if a curious toddler plopped into the water while his parents were busy checking their Instagram feeds?
• Plus, a picturesque harbor with boats bobbing on the water is SO cliché. • Additionally, the wine of Istria is unique, and rarely exported.
• You’ll never get to hear the latest Top 40 pop songs, which is a real shame. For some reason, they’re all about local music in Rovinj. You’ll hear it floating up through the curtains of your bedroom. You’ll hear it onstage, along the harborfront. And you’ll even hear people playing weird instruments you can’t name...
• You can actually see rocks at the bottom of this water. (It’s a phenomenon some people can’t explain, maybe witchcraft.) Simply the worst. ❤
Happy easter everyone! 🐣
We’ve spent the past couple of days visiting our family and got lucky with the perfect spring weather, so it was nice change for Henkka to fly the drone without freezing his fingers off.
Our last week in Finland is supposed to be sunny and warm. Can’t complain! One weeks from now, around this time our train is already on the move.
Have a great week guys! 🐥 Can you spot me in the picture?

Having a nice Beaster (Easter at the beach) 🐰🏝 by drinking fresh coconut water and mimosas and reading a book. Everyone needs some sand between their toes every now and then. How are you spending your Easter Sunday?
