Thank you to the thousands of people who came to Welcome to the Forest, it was three days of incredible art, culture and community. We think this video just about sums it up. Most exciting of all, this is just the beginning. Check out the website (link in the bio) for what is to come - from local heroes putting on shows to film festivals and magical family experiences. And there is so much more to be announced. Welcome to the Forest, Welcome to Waltham Forest’s year.
Welcome to the Forest 🌃This is a must see😱 ...a beautiful light beam artwork called Nest by @marshmallowlaserfeast for @wfculture19 . Last night, inspired at last minute by @intereverything to go see #wfculture19 and wow, what a sight this is😱Tonight’s the last night to see it, don’t miss out, it’s free but expect queues👍🏻
📸Timelapse on #NikonZ6 with 12mm f2.8 in portrait orientation as even this lens in landscape wouldn’t capture the whole thing this close.
Thanks to everyone who came last night to celebrate the start of Waltham Forest’s year as London Borough of Culture! After a spectacular first night, Welcome to the Forest continues tonight and tomorrow from 6pm to 9.30pm. Free to attend, bring the whole family to experience the epic opening event. Click the link in the bio for everything you need to know, from how to get there to what to see.

Over 70,000 people came together to enjoy Welcome to the Forest this weekend, encapsulating the theme of Fellowship that will continue throughout this incredible year of culture, events and community.
From world premieres by @greenaway_and_greenaway, @talvinsinghmusic, @addictivetv Greenaway & Greenaway, @marshmallowlaserfeast & @erlandcooper (whose composition is on this film) to the help of thousands of local children and community groups, & a neon-lit carnival curated by @continentaldrifts, it was an unforgettable weekend (and not just for the "UFO" sightings across London thanks to Nest!). Bring on 2019! Watch the full video on our Facebook page - wfculture19
