I also did something today I’ve always wanted to do: I brought a grocery bag of snacks to the folks who work my polling place. (I wasn’t entirely sure it was legal; they laughed & took the bag out of my hands before they checked me in.) I’ve never been as grateful for my right to cast a vote, & for all the people who worked to give me that right, as I am today. Flawed as our system is - and it is deeply flawed; a schoolmate of mine who just returned from serving overseas as a US Ambassador, and whose skin is brown, had to fight to cast his vote today - it gives us a chance, every few years, to vote for change.
My 103-year-old grandmother may not have lived to see the first female president, but neither she, you, I, nor this hot mess of a country that we share are done yet. Don’t give up.
If your in Massachusetts and you are Voting...REMEMBER to vote NO 🚫 on Question 1!
My sister has a been an RN and Nurse trainer for almost 20 years, she knows firat hand the damage question 1 will cause to patient care.
On the other side I had a Kidney Transplant 16.5 years ago and have spent a few unhappy days in a hospital and I can tell you first hand the value of having a nurse that is available, friendly, attentive and enjoys her job and patients.
We need to let the people that know what and how to take care of patients do their jobs....Nurses 👩⚕️

I just had my first #mammogram & I’m waiting on a breast ultrasound & if you think you might ever want to see a doctor, please vote tomorrow. Everyone deserves access to #healthcare.
Also, there has got to be a better way to screen for breast cancer than by smooshing some of the most sensitive parts of our bodies between two pieces of plastic. If we did that to testicles, there’d be a different test yesterday.
Tomorrow - Tuesday, Nov. 6th!! We all have the chance to honor this man John Lewis & many others like him who stood up against MUCH adversity for our right to vote. Together, we can make history all across this country by changing the landscape of our government into a more diverse one. There are more women, LGBT, & young veterans running for office. Ever since I canvassed Hamilton, Pennsylvania in 2007 for Barack Obama & saw him win I've chosen to also use my platform as an artist to encourage participation in the voting system. Vote!! #johnlewis#warriorsforpeace#equality#justice#voteonnovember6#tomorrowistheday@Regran_ed from @common - “I gave a little blood on that bridge in Selma, 53 years ago. I almost died. I’m not asking any of you to give any blood. I’m just asking you to go and vote like you never voted before. We have to vote" John Lewis. Tomorrow, we have the power to change the course of history if we all show up and vote. Much love. - #regrann

I’m still trying to process the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. I’ve been trying to reclaim my Judaism for years, and the night before the shooting I had a moment of companionship with someone who has struggled with their identity in a way that almost mirrored my own. And then, waking up to the headlines and stories next morning was just...too much. I’ve been taking it slow all weekend, and I have no idea how - or if - I’ll be able to start the coming week as if everything is normal.
I am part of a community of brilliant, wonderful, loving people who have faced thousands of years of unfounded hate and have still managed to continue onwards. It brings me to tears just to think of this event, but I have to do more than cry. I have to act. I have to vote. I have to donate and support my people in any way I can. And so do the rest of you.
Your activism matters. Your vote matters. Your voice matters. Please, use all the powers you have to help us and support us through this darkness, and beyond that. Do not skip out on voting in this election. It is too important. We are too important. The only way those in power will know that we will not stand for their hatred, bigotry, and total disregard for human right, is if we take action and demand to reclaim what should have never been taken from us.
Farm animal protection is on the California ballot this November. Proposition 12 is the most far-reaching animal protection law in history. Prop 12 prevents baby veal calves, mother pigs, and egg-laying hens from being crammed inside tiny cages and crates their entire lives. Scientific studies repeatedly find that the practice of locking animals inside small, filthy cages increases the risk of food poisoning. All animals, including farm animals, deserve protection from cruelty and abuse. Vote Yes on 12 and ask your friends and family members to do so. It is a humane measure. Please cast a vote for a kinder world! #yeson12#yesonprop12#voteyeson12#california#vote#animalprotection#fortheanimals#preventanimalcruelty#voteonnovember6#farmanimalsmatter#votesmatter
