... you don’t just go to the places everyone does. I love finding the smaller “hidden gems” type places that I otherwise would miss. It’s easy to know what we need to hit from a quick Google search, but this gets us into amazing small businesses we otherwise likely would miss.
Is it any wonder they want to scale the fence and see what's above? In their mind surely the view from up high must be better.
And let's face it, don't we adults often think the view will be better "just over there?" My challenge is to look at the world around you this summer and see just how good the view is right where you are.
Yesterday I drove up to Portland, Maine to hang out with these two cuties! Sadly as soon as I arrived it started to rain, but Emily and Kipp didn’t let that stop them from totally crushing their engagement session! 🌧
Seriously they were so chill and laid back about the weather, and we were able to explore a lot of Portland with our umbrellas. ☔️ We even stopped for some beer and pretzels so I could bombard them with Netflix and Hulu recommendations (I’ve had a lot of downtime these last few months, guys!). E+K thanks for showing me around your adorable city and trusting me with your wedding memories! I’m ready for it to be 2020 now so we can party 🎉

I still remember my Italian Nana making a simpler version of this dish. Fresh tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar is just such a classic. This one elevates it to a new level with pickled onions, arugula, and a pistachio crumble.

I was very appreciative of a server who knows the menu well and could help me eat #glutenfree .
While seafood is king in the area and at this restaurant, I have to admit their filet of beef was amazing. And the lobster mash for an add on side gave me the buttery lobster without the gluten.

Emily and I are not the biggest fans of being in front of the camera. So we have really never posted solo photos of ourselves. But its 2019 baby, and this year is all about breaking outside of our comfort zones, so here we go! .
My fiancé, Hannah, took this photo after a somewhat intense (for us) hike near Cannon Beach on the coast of Oregon. My hair is a mess, I am no doubt sweaty and dirty from the hike, but I am happier than a clam. Because, holy smokes, look at this place! Huge rock formations, tide pools, and the beautiful Pacific is a dream come true for me. This was hands down the best road trip of my life. I am so excited for Hannah and I’s next adventure. .
And I am so freaking grateful for this amazing journey Emily and I have been on for the past ten years. Photography has opened a whole new world for us and we have seen some amazing places and met some of the best people! We have grown so much as sisters and business partners. Emily has been my guiding light in this life and I am absolutely where I am today because of her! .
So cheers to the strong women in our lives and the beautiful places that make us feel alive.
