ENGAÑO COVE | PALAUI ISLAND, CAGAYAN
I guess no other place in the Philippines radiates so much mystique as Palaui, a small yet fascinating island off the coast of Santa Ana in the northern province of Cagayan.
Surrounded with white sandy beaches and scenic rugged terrain, and built by howling winds and huge waves, Palaui Island’s best kept secret is its century old lighthouse – Farol de Cabo Engaño at the hill on the north of this beautiful cove.
Even when the storm rocks hard against the boat, let it be His deeply rooted love for you that reminds you in the depths of your soul no matter what happens, you will be okay, for He will be with you, wave after wave.
This is truly one of our country's amazing landscapes, Bohol's Chocolate Hills. Formed from coral limestone uplifted from the sea and slowly eroded and formed by the elements into their present shape way back hundreds of years ago.

If you’re always afraid to fall, you’ll never see what’s behind the rock. Behind your fear. Try it. Explore it. After all, we live in a dangerously beautiful word. #Ansabeh

This climb at Mt.Ulap wasn’t as easy as I had my last, 3 years ago, at Pico de Loro. They were both minor climbs according to them 😵 but the difference was I am heavier this time. I already experienced searing lower back pain even before the 1st hour of walk. I had my right leg cramped after the 2nd peak, then I had it on my left leg before reaching the summit. My legs thought they were in competition. It was challenging. I was panting heavily most of the time, that ugly kind of panting, while they were cool getting them selfies because my group were all girls who knows no rest. I was cussing them in my mind. True story. What I reflected after the climb was, I should have not underestimated my weight. Hahaha
Despite that, Mt.Ulap was beautiful. I was glad we went on a weekday, it wasn’t too crowded. It was freezing.Scenic.Picturesque.Instagrammable. I’d probably go back in the mountains, next time with thicker jacket (mine served well for ootd ONLY) and socks for my sandals, because my blisters joined the competition with my back pain and cramps. Lastly, thank you Catherine, for pushing me, literally, when my legs weren’t cooperating anymore, until next time before my 30th.
