Yesterday we went on an adventure to find a waterfall. On our way there we found out that the adventure was actually the drive to the waterfall. We put strawberry (our car-Gaby named it) to the test. It was a gravel/dirt road uphill and the street was not the widest.
People who are used to driving it drive fast! Also, there are sharp corners everywhere and you can’t see if someone is coming around the corner in the opposite direction! It was pretty intense. On one side we had a pretty big cliff drop off then on the other was mountain wall or cars swishing around the corner super fast. It was quite a drive. However we did get to see this when we weren’t clinging to our seats from fear. Lol. •
We made it to the waterfall to find two guys trying to bath and so we only got a couple pics. I’ll post one of waterfall next-no bathers. •
What’s the scariest drive-road you have ever been on? Was the final view worth it? We think ours was what about you?
COME SEEK US WHERE OUR VOICES SOUND, WE CANNOT SING ABOVE THE GROUND: It’s been a fleeting visit to #laketaupo and I really wish we could stay longer, especially now it looks like the sun is out to stay instead of all the rain we had yesterday! We’re off to Wellington now for the 4th part of our trip and we still need to plan out the final leg back to Auckland. I guess that’s tonight’s job. #AJandGaryInNZ#AJVisits#visitnewzealand (📸 by @garyu69)
When we first met, my roommate and I quickly realized we had a lot in common. For instance when I was working my second harvest in Australia, she was working hers in New Zealand and we met our boyfriends down there, etc. Long story short, we moved in together and the other night she broke out this gem from her time down there!

95/100. Bright, beautiful and full of grapefruity life, the acid on this Osteiner is insane in the best way. The varietal is a crossing of Riesling and Silvaner and was actually created in 1928 at Gerrit’s university in Germany, Geisenheim! I had never had it before but was blown away by how precise and refreshing it was.
I love that Rippon wines are all spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts and receive no additions, whatsoever. You don’t see as much of that in the New World, but’s it’s amazing what mother nature can accomplish on her own!

Many golfers say that @whippoorwillclub is the most underated golf course in the country. The incredibly hilly terrain was masterfully carved out by the great Charles Banks. With template holes abound and some of the finest bunkering I've ever seen, this track certainly deserves more attention and accolades.

This was the day that stood out to me the most throughout my whole trip.
Waking up in a borrowed car at the brink of dawn, and setting off to a location suggested to me by bar staff the night before. (Cheers Danny). I arrive, completely alone. Not another person in sight for miles... I make the short trek to this spot.
The sun was still rising, beaming through the trees, casting beautiful shapes and shadows on the steamy hot springs.
Once the slight awkwardness and unease of being totally alone and in the middle of nowhere settled, a sudden wave of freedom and content came over me, and I felt totally liberated.
There's not many pictures of me from my trip, but I wanted to make an effort at this place and try and capture that essence of vitality I was lucky enough to find there. #selftimerforthewin

Beautiful morning on Lake Matheson with a stunning reflection of Mt Cook and the Southern Alps on the lake
Serious case of Monday blues here… After the amazing 2 weeks in NZ and then Diwali, we are finally back in routine!
Was browsing through the gallery for some #MondayMotivation and found this. This is one of my fav pictures from the trip. Just enjoying the picturesque coastal town of Kaikoura while waiting for the whale-watching tour! Definitely for the wall! 💙💙💙
How are you beating the Monday blues?
I’m so excited... for two reasons. ONE, I got sent a wand in the post today, that’s right a wand, to celebrate the new Grindelwald film coming out soon which I will be attending front row and centre. I have absolutely no shame... and TWO I’m running off to the mountains tomorrow morning for an overnight adventure. I’m so freeking excited to tick another hike off my bucket list! Have an excellent weekend friends, see you on the other side ✨

Queenstown, New Zealand: I tried to plan the most relaxing activity of the trip for day 1 and I think I succeeded! We had a very smooth travel day: a 4 hour flight from Chicago to San Francisco, a 13 hour night from SF to Auckland, and we landed early and were able to switch onto an earlier flight from Auckland to Queenstown! We wanted to get as most flying as possible out of the way up front, now we’ll work ourselves South to North for our return flight out of Auckland throughout our 2 weeks here. We landed in Queenstown at 12:30pm on Sunday, and had a perfect half day of lunch, exploring the town, the hot pools and a massage, and dinner, followed by an early 9:30pm bedtime. Can’t wait to share more of this trip with you! If you sometimes don’t see my posts in your feed, try following #hungerlustNZ to be more likely to see post from this trip specifically! #queenstown#onsenhotpools#thanksgivingholiday
