There’s a lot of hype about probiotics and gut health lately! Both of which are super important for overall health!
BUT rather than spending a lot of money on expensive general probiotics, we choose to use pre and probiotic foods to nourish our microbiota instead (unless prescribed a specific probiotic by a qualified practitioner that has a researched outcome)
Ways to do it through diet include:
Probiotic fermented foods: kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir
Prebiotic foods: onion, garlic, leeks, asparagus, artichokes, legumes and plant foods in general!
We don’t solely drink kombucha for its probiotic effects but more so because we genuinely enjoy it! We recommend choosing organic, raw, low sugar and plastic free brands like this one! @remedydrinks 🌿🙌🏻💕🍵🙏🏻🍏✨

I absolutely love #Wakame. Not a huge fan of the fact that most Wakame salads you can buy are dyed to this brilliant green colour but I love how tasty and nutrient dense it is. Wakame contains good amounts of iodine, calcium, folate and omega-3. All essential for #pregnant and #breastfeeding#mothers 😍🤰🏻🤰
While fussy eater is away at school camp we’ve been able to go out and eat whatever we like without having to worry about what she’ll eat. 🙌🏼
They still won’t let me put the chilli oil on the dumplings though 🥟❤️🌶😝

Meatless Monday 🌱 This easy dinner was the best part of my day hands down. Well...actually, I had a super relaxing day at the office and came home to two small children quietly singing, coloring and eating an evening snack without dropping a single crumb, an hour of self care followed by my 30 minute quiet meditation evening routine watching the sunset and getting grounded 🙄🤦🏻♀️😳 Ummm...Try a crazy day where you’re going 💯 miles an hour and get nothing done. Came home to my 3 year old pecking at my 5 year old to ensure she screams every 3 minutes. Took the kids outside thinking nature will calm them but then I was screaming on repeat “no bikes/scooters/walking on the street.” Now it’s 7:30pm and I have 34 emails to respond to before passing out. 🙋🏻♀️ “self care” goals this evening will be washing the dishes, packing lunches and camp backpacks and hopefully finding 5 mins to wash my face instead of using a makeup wipe. 🙊 At least this week has no where to go but up! Hope everyone had a better day than me 😂 #truthtalk

The VEGETABLE HAKKA NOODLES from @purplecarrotxo were so darn good (and so convenient to throw together after a long day of work)! This dish is packed with soba noodles, tofu, chickpeas, veggies & a delish sauce made of curry powder, agave + sesame oil. Highly recommend trying Purple Carrot if you haven't already (it’s a super awesome meal kit delivery service that we always love using)! In my bowl today for dinner I enjoyed some baked tofu seasoned with adobo seasoning and oregano, air fried sweet potato, fire roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado and sautéed veggies with balsamic vinegar, garlic and salt (veggies used for this include pepper, onion, and spinach). 🌱
Happy Monday! I know this bowl looks messy, but I was pretty eager to eat it after a long day. If I can get more of these bowls, I would be set. 👌🏽🔥Some simple tips with the tofu, press the water out of it. There are some great tutorials for this via a quick google search. Honestly, it makes all the difference in the world if you’ve had bad experiences with it in the past. 👏🏽 No one should suffer from having had bad tofu! And easily preventable thing! Dicing it into cubes and coating with simple seasonings or sauce will definitely make the outside of the tofu nice and tasty. You can always marinate it if need be overnight, but sometimes I don’t have time for that. Feel free to bake or sauté as desired. For this bowl we baked it at 400F for about 20 minutes. 😍
Getting all of the veggies in on this sunny morning 😍👌. Perfect poached eggs, avocado toast and sautéed peppers and courgette. For perfect poachies, bring a pan of water to the boil, add a drop of vinegar (I use @willysacv apple cider vinegar 🍎) and a pinch of salt then turn the heat down to a simmer. Crack in your eggs and cook for exactly 4 mins then remove with a slotted spoon and serve. The tiny bubbles created by the vinegar and salt help to bring the whites up around the yolks, so there's no need to stir/create a whirlpool 👍. Easy! Who's tried this method? #whatiateforbreakfast
