Why hello again! Don't worry, I'm still alive ^-^ I've been grooving to some wonderful flows of change lately, but I haven't forgotten about B4M. I'm simply.. uninspired. Not to say I'm throwing in the towel by any means, but there have been many other things that have taken my attention lately - and quite frankly - I'm not the kind of person that can focus on a bunch of things at once. I've come to accept that, instead of being hard on myself every time my inspiration and motivation seems to vanish. So anyway, here is some tasty eats I've had over the last while! My wonderful partner @frudelstein whipped up the first two - vegan phõ and a tofu scramble breaky ❤ The rest are from a nice date at Noorish here in #yeg. My summer has been full of new relationships, adventures and passions, but I still intend to keep sharing my love of whole plant foods through it all. I was thinking about sea glass and what an extraordinarily good metaphor it is for what we all hope for in life. When it was created and initially used, the glass had no value. It was part of a greenish Coke bottle, a brown wine bottle, olive oil, or a blue drinking glass. Nothing of importance. Use up the contents and throw the bottle away. Somehow or other the glass broke and its pieces were scattered. This one ends up in the ocean. For a long time, maybe even years, it lives there being tossed and tumbled, roiled here and there by the whims of the sea. It's not a good life, but it manages to keep intact. All the time it's in there however, its sharp edges are being worn away by the water's constant movement. The violence of storms, the bleaching sun, saltwater... all these things transform it. Eventually it gets washed up on a beach somewhere. It is the same glass it once was but also something new. Not entirely but almost. The color has been burned away by the sun and the acid sea, making the glass more translucent, ethereal, and lovely. It has no more edges. But without them it has taken on a shape, a form, that is often singular and truly one of a kind. Sooner or later someone comes by and notices it. They are immediately attracted. They love it for what it has become. Often they take it home and in some cases, even turn it into a piece of jewelry or something else valuable. Something to treasure.

This is exactly how I feel about being back in the gym these past few days. It’s such an important part of my healthy lifestyle. Not just physically, but mentally as well. Exercise makes me feel more positive in my day to day life. I’m addicted to the endorphins.

Finally got to visit @shifteatery in Surry Hills! The chick'n schnitzel sandwich was AMAZING - probably the best sandwich I've had so far and the waffles with coconut icecream, chocolate fudge and orange syrup were SWEET! I'm personally not a fan of the chocolate and orange combo and found the waffles way too sweet, but if you have a sweet tooth and love yourself some chocolate and orange, definitely order that! ✖
ladies, it’s self care Sunday✨ here’s a list of small but meaningful self care practices that i’ll be engaging in today and i hope that you do too✨
1. take a leisurely walk around your neighborhood. enjoy all of the flowers that summer has to offer
2. call/visit your grandparents❤️ they always have a way of imparting wisdom and making us feel good- plus it will put a smile on their faces too😊
3. make a smoothie and sit outside in the sunshine ☀️ 4. watch your favorite show and take some time to simply relax without thinking about your upcoming weekly tasks
5. give your pet a big hug, it always feels amazing to embrace your furry friend
6. whatever you were craving all week, make it or buy it! whether that means picking up donuts from a local donut shop or whipping up some avocado toast, you deserve it!🥑

One of my favorites 😍 orange tofu, rice & broccoli. I’m thinking of updating my orange tofu recipe as it’s a couple of years old (I think?) - today is my dads birthday so we’ve spent the day at home by the pool relaxing. It’s been just so nice. I hope you all are having a great weekend ❤️
