Ok I accidentally made one of the best smoothies of my life! I didn’t have a ton of frozen fruit so I used some odd ends of produce in my fridge and it payed off / 1/2 a banana, 1 cup frozen mango, 1 peeled and de-cored apple, around a quarter of a whole peeled lemon, some fresh ginger + turmeric, my last tablespoon of coconut yogurt, oat milk, water, and around a third of a peeled carrot
So you’re wanting to start to eat healthier, but are feeling daunted by the process. Where to start? What to change first?
Take a deep breath! Learn how to relax because healthy is a lifestyle. It’s not a one-time, quick fix. When done right, healthy becomes a way of life- something to endlessly be learning about.
The first piece of advice I have for you is to take baby steps. Taking it slow is generally more effective than putting pressure on yourself to change over night. Be easy on yourself.
Start by eliminating something in your diet that isn’t serving you, or something you feel you have an unhealthy relationship with: coffee, alcohol, sugar, bread, dairy, meat, etc.
Perhaps find a replacement for this food. If it’s sugar, substitute sugary foods for fruit. If it’s coffee, substitute with a different beverage. If it’s meat, eat more healthy carbs or fat to make up the calories.
Remember & think about your “why”! Why are you wanting to make this change? Why is it important to you? Identify your values & stick to them.
You can do anything you put your mind to. Be patient because change takes time. Give yourself lots of compassion. You got this!
There’s nothing like a cozy meal at @casadeluz_atx on a chilly night! .
Casa de Luz, one of my favorite restaurants in Austin, serves all organic, Macrobiotic-inspired meals. The plate usually consists of beans, whole grains, mixed vegetables, dark greens, fermented veggies and a delicious nut-based sauce. When you’re feeling a little under the weather, dealing with poor digestion, or simply just want the comfort of a meal cooked with pure love, Casa is the place to go!! If you haven’t yet been and you live in Austin, check it out and thank me later 😊😊

These lettuce wrap tacos were AMAZING 🔥 One of the things that I love about our 30-day detox is that it encourages me to be creative with food. While I love cooking, I often get stuck in ruts and end up making whatever is quickest and easiest. This detox really is an excuse for me to eat healthier AND have fun in the kitchen ♥️

Life update: I've learned to slow down. I used to feel a lot of pressure to accomplish a lot at a young age, so I'd constantly overwork myself. I somehow managed to pack two internships, a corporate job and a full-time student course load into my schedule. It was as stressful as it sounds. I recently let go of the job and the internships, and I feel more at peace. Moving forward, the game plan is to prioritize what makes me happy (loved ones, my health, school, etc.). Burning out isn't worth it and the world will continue spinning if I'm not the next Mark Zuckerberg lol. "Don't get so busy trying to make a living that you forget to make a life."

🤕Recently I've taken a big set-back physically. I injured my back around 6 months ago and have not been able to train my legs since, it was my first ever injury😭
🏋🏽♂️I kept up the upper-body training to some extent after almost 2 months off but my strength & muscle mass have gone down without heavy leg workouts, which really sucks as I always want to be progressing...
😓I haven’t been this light in 4 years, and my strength progress I made over these past 4 years are gone🤯
Even though I try keeping a positive mindset, it is hard at times when your craft takes such a blow, which is part of the reason I haven’t produced much content lately.
🌓I feel the tides are turning and that I will soon he able to get back to my passion of training with full force, I can't wait to recover all the lost progress and share my journey here & on Youtube🙂
To everyone struggling with a set back, keep your head up and do your best to stay positive! We got this💪🏼

You do not have to have ABS to be FAB 🤩 basically my new motto ✨ I honestly became 10X happier when I stopped trying seeing my body as having to look a certain way and instead accepted my natural shape and size 🥑🍊🍐 I’m still very petite but I store most of my fat on my stomach and hips. Some people store theirs on their legs, others on their arms, but for me it was always my stomach. The fear of putting on weight stopped me from doing things I enjoy - going out for meals with friends and indulging in foods I enjoyed. I’d feel immense guilt for skipping the gym and would prioritize gyming over having fun. Yes, exercise and eating healthy still play a massive role in my life, but I do this in a way that is way more balanced and makes me so much happier 😍♥️ Moral of the story: having abs doesn’t guarantee you’re going to feel great about yourself 😇 Prioritizing the things you love will 🌟

🌶 SPICY CRISPY TOFU 📷 by @doctorbowl 🚨🚨Recipe: ▪️400g extra firm tofu
▪️1 healthy pinch sea salt
▪️1 tsp of tumeric and chilli powder
▪️Preheat oven to 190c
▪️Wrap your tofu in an absorbent towel. Set something heavy on top - like a cast iron skillet - to press out extra moisture for 5 minutes.
▪️Unwrap tofu and cut into small cubes.
Add to a bowl and season spices
▪️Heat skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the oil and the seasoned tofu
▪️Sauté for 5 minutes, shaking occasionally to cook on all sides, until tofu has a slight crust on each side and has begun to brown.
▪️Transfer skillet to oven to bake for about 15 minutes

MONDAY IMMUNITY STEW 🌙
💚Although it may seem like I keep banging on about immunity, I am a firm believer that a nourishing and fully balanced diet is the key to a thriving immune system - which is particularly important during the winter
☺️ This is one of my favourite things to cook when I’m feeling a little under the weather, and I hope you like it as much as I do!
-1/2 cup dry red lentils
-1 courgette, diced
-100g barley (dry)
-1tsp paprika or mixed spice
-1 handful cherry tomatoes
-1 tbsp tahini
1️⃣ Cook the lentils and barley on high heat with double the volume of water
2️⃣ When they are close to being fully cooked, add the other ingredients (including the tahini) and stir in the spices
3️⃣ Allow the ingredients to bubble together until a thick stew has formed!
