Half full cappuccino’s, chatting with new friends, and sorting through funky antiques while exploring the outskirts of San Francisco. So far California is a state filled with sweet surprises both in the city and out in nature.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there & the best guy I know - He loves unconditionally, has the purest heart, always has a smile on his face, & would do absolutely anything to help someone - I’m so thankful for you & all the adventures we’ve had together☀️ I’ll never forget how my dad encouraged me when I was going through one of the hardest times of my life. The last thing I wanted to do was talk to anyone about what I was going through - but when I was finally honest - my dad gave me the best bear hug in the world, rested his head against mine, & gently whispered in my ear, “It’s going to be okay.” The compassion in his eyes & love in his voice did more than I ever expected. He let me know we were going to get through it together and that was all I needed to hear❤️•
•So often when we are going through a difficult situation - the moment we need to run to God the hardest & the strongest - it’s like the enemy works overtime to get us to hide in isolation, shame, & fear. But we were never meant to go through life alone. No matter what changes in your life - this will NEVER change - the God who is Love loves you with everything that He is. He created you on purpose for a purpose & there’s not a moment that goes by that you aren’t on His mind. He is the Father of all fathers, the dad of your dreams - He will never leave you or stop believing in you. He has a great plan for your life and there’s nothing He can’t turn around for your good☺️ Rest tonight knowing you are not forgotten & you’re not alone. God doesn’t tolerate you, He celebrates you. And no matter what you’re going through, God just wants you to know that you’re gonna get through it together💛 It’s gonna be ok & He is taking you to the other side☀️•
•”This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.” (Romans 8:15)
Still playing with ideas for the trim...taped some poly wall up there and plugged in some fake ferns to cover little bits that stuck out. I need to ultimately redo it with a wood trim piece and recut the poly wall. But it was fun to play with ideas! I have a feeling this van is going to have a very unique style when I’m done with it...
Roadtrip planning because we hit the road with Eugene in 14 days! There's so much to see/hike in Oregon. We'll do the classics like Three Sisters, Painted Hills, Wallowa Lake, Hells Canyon, Alvord Desert, Crater Lake... if anyone has any suggestions, please share!

We up and running y'all.
Yesterday the van died. Like died died. I knew almost immediately it was the starter.
So I've been stuck on the street outside work since yesterday, but today a friend dropped off the new starter and we changed it right there.
Sometimes #vanlife is exhausting.
🇬🇧The picture is quite beautiful with so much vegetation, but in fact those trees produce the well known palm oil.
These trees grow quickly and their fruit generates a huge amount of oil, or in other words, money. .
For that reason in Honduras, among many other countries, crops that have alway represent a fundamental part of the countrie's diet and entire forests are being cut down, to look like that after just a few months.
As we keep floating through life together I can't help but think of the overwhelming feeling I have of where, to me, you are the perfect mix between that deep love that only comes from years of fully baring your soul to someone & that new-boyfriend-you-can't-get-enough-of. 💕 #endlessgratitude#crushinonthehubs

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! We feel super blessed to have @fearlesslyleavingtheshire in our lives. He’s patient, funny, innovative, loyal, and loves each of us as we are.
Saltlife Heaven...nothing like a walk on a secluded beach with your favorite person in the whole world ❤️ then chilling in a cool spot. Love the wave action and staring at a great big dune across the Sound— Jockey’s Ridge on the Outer Banks. This is our last Summer on the East Coast for a while. West and south the wheels will turn next.
Yesterday I set some steel posts in concrete on all for corners. So today I started building out the #raisedbed frames with locally milled #dougfir 1x12 and also securing some of the pvc hoops. Still a ways to go, but I’m glad I started this project! Alot of my seed starts are ready to move into a bigger home! Still have to build end walls, frame a door, order the plastic cover, build roll up sides, clear out around the area, mulch, build a water resi/nutrient storage area.. honestly it never ends... 🤣🤣 #homestead#growfoodnotlawns#groworganic#highelevationgardening#sustainable#permaculture
Tonight's #vancooking: Thai-style chicken legs with fish sauce, cilantro, serano peppers, and mushrooms. This is one of our favourite recipes, and we've been able to adapt it marvelously to our new life. It even tastes better from the van oven! Our theory is that the propane oven produces a lot of moisture which keeps the chicken juicier. Everytime we make it there are small variations due to our tricksy oven, but it's always foolproof delicious.
If life has taught me anything over the years, it’s that rarely does anything go as you plan or how you hope.. And sometimes it will go completely off course. Living in this beautiful home with the person I shared it with was one of the greatest adventures I could have ever asked for. That said..
This summer I’ll be building out another van and learning a completely different kind of adventure. Excited for the process and super nervous for what’s to come. But ready to take on whatever that’s going to look like. PS. The biggest thank you ever to everyone who has reached out. This community always blows me away. ❤️
New blog » an interview with our best buds @briannamadia and Keith 🖤 A little snippet: “The van really offered something unique for all four of us. I wanted to feel more…alive. I wanted to live really intentionally and kind of understand what it’s like to struggle for something because you believe its worth doing. Keith wanted a way to be more mobile and explore more of the places we love after he finished his long work shifts. It was exhausting for him to come out of his shifts out in the desert, drive up to our apartment in Salt Lake, unpack, repack, and then get in the car with me and drive back out to the desert. It was just too much back and forth. Bucket really needed a way to come out of her shell and be a bit more brave, and I think the van helped her tremendously with that. And then, of course, there’s Dagwood…who hates the indoors.” » grab yourself a cup of coffee and head to the link in my bio or story for more 🐾
Family caravan up the coast! Wagons filled with sand in every crevase, the cousins testing their new wetsuits in the frigid Pacific, warming their frozen toes next to the buddy heater, fire beneath the stars, lilting laughter mixed with crashing waves, sharing space, making memories.

I’ve sat in this spot a thousand times. From here I’ve seen sprawling mountains in Yosemite- I’ve felt the enormity and beauty of the Grand Canyon- the awe of the sugar white beaches against emerald green waters in Florida...I’ve watched the sun go down over the cactus forests of Joshua Tree- and swam in the frigid rivers of Oregon just feet away from my tiny home. In these moments of bliss I don’t forget the hurdles and misadventures I had to overcome to get here. If you’ve been following me long enough then you know, I had no shortage of obstacles. And I try to always be real about that because forgetting the misfortune would do a disservice to my story. Instead I allow all parts of my journey to be part of the bliss. I feel all of it. An all encompassing feeling of accomplishment and gratitude for all that it requires to make a dream a reality. Through this process I’ve learned that if I put my mind to something and go forth without succumbing to fear, then I can do just about anything. I guess the point I’m getting at is..never ever let fear or misfortune steal your dreams! Keep going, guys! That is the only option.
