Day 11: What a success! The entirety of the roof got insulated today! 😎 I really like how the sandwich of Thinsulate and Polyiso worked out. I am super excited to see how this combination reacts to the elements in the near future! Shout out to @emmahegi and @skidsnaps for the help cutting all of the meticulous bits!
We have had some major tire issues lately. First, we got a bubble on our tire. Then our spare got a flat. Fortunately, it happened right next to Alamo Tire Muffler and Auto Repair shop in Alamogordo, NM. They were willing to swap out our tires, which most places we called were not. The guys at the shop lent us a car for the day and gave us keys to the back gate so we could sleep in Sparky and come and go as we please. What could have been a really stressful situation turned out to be very pleasant. We are so thankful to be able to come in contact with such nice and generous people in our travels.
Garage view! These ebikes are our local (and free) transportation, and @panorama_mann built them both! They can do range up to 120km per charge, and they go from 0-100km in 6 seconds. They were the reason we made our bed higher and installed a bed lift; we wanted to get them out of the van really quick and easily. With these bikes we can see an entire national park in an afternoon at no extra cost! I broke my foot the first time I rode one... it can only get better from there, right??
Also, did you notice Millie’s photobomb? Typical. 😹

We have again some news about our Campervan. Unfortunately we had complications with the last one, which is why we will not travel with him. Now we have finally found our final Mowgli. Randomly, we heard about the sale of the camper and reacted immediatly. Everything was just right here.We had him look by a Service Station in advance, he is even though he is already 30 years old in great condition, inside and outside. Of course we want to remodel him inside so that he is like we want it, but without that everything is fine. He also has a oldtimer license plate which is great. Now we can finally concentrate on the renovation and no longer have to deal with problems.

The largest of our ornaments doesn’t fit on the spice rack, so we just plonk him on the bed instead 😂🤦🏻♂️🚐

Smiling because I am in Never Never Land..but actually! This beautiful oasis we found is a magical fairy land filled with waterfalls and swimming holes and rock swings, and it's actually called Never Never and the Promised Lands. So I guess that makes me Peter Pan. Young at heart forever.
Actually to be honest growing up isn't something I'm worried about or even think about at all. Recently a friend and I were commenting on some children's dance moves, how we loved how raw and organic they danced, moving exactly they way they feel. We have this acceptance in society for children to act in any way they feel whether it's running around naked or singing at the top of their lungs, and then at a certain age that starts to diminish. We start to become ashamed to show parts of our bodies, we care what people think of our voices or our dance moves and feel we have to act 'normal' in public whatever that even means.
I remember when I first met @mathewchanner we were at the grocery store and I was taking a while to pick something and he just laid down on his back in the aisle and I felt embarrassed at the time and was like what are you doing, your not supposed to do that, and people walking by were giving him weird looks and he was like why not? Who cares if I lay down on the floor, it's comfy!
We place so many stereotypes around certain ages, we hear people say oh I'm too old for this or I'm too young for that. But really age is just some silly number that has no correlation with how we feel in our hearts and our minds. I've met old souls in young bodies and young souls in older bodies and what I think is most important is that we follow our dreams no matter what age we are. Whether thats going back to school to change your career or taking off to travel the world. And that we act upon our inner impulses, dance when we want and sing when we want and stop giving a f*ck what people think of us. We are all perfect exactly as we are, and there is nothing that we are 'supposed' to be doing regardless of our number of laps around the sun!
So we were forced to put our work on the van on hold for the past few days because Michelle and I both got super sick and have been stuck in bed recovering — It definitely hasn’t been easy on the hands or my health working outside everyday with the cold and wet weather up here in NY, but we are almost through it...
Michelle has sewn together a beautiful new set of curtains and even remade our magnetic cabin partition for stealth camping scenarios. While I’ve been setting Arabella up with a fresh set of All-Terrain KO2’s from our friends at @bfgoodrichtires and installing a handful of other things I’m super stoked on (like new suspension components, brakes, and 200watts worth of solar panels just to name a few)...
But after weeks of wrenching, wiring, repairing, and rebuilding, we are seriously itching to get back out on the road and finally enjoy all the fruits of our recent labor — Arabella feels like a whole new van, and we‘ve never been more psyched to get out there and start new chapter of adventures with her. Stoked to show you guys all the work we’ve done once we’re finished and on the road again! 🙏🏼🚐💨

Parte 06 - Final
Boa tarde!

No greater feeling comes from this 14 month project than turning key, hitting the road, and powering through some of the best forests the East coast has to offer. Far from complete, but pretty bloody good for now @jacobemmens#CamperLifestyle
Another timeless moment between myself and the sun. The sound of waves crashing against the rugged coast echoing up the canyon; a steady salty breeze; Tom Petty tunes playing in the background; fresh blueberries. Its good to be on the road again finding new places without cell service✌️.

♡Enjoy the small things in life 😊
That is our formula for happiness.♡
》》What is you secret for happiness? 《《
Especially when travelling with the van, you don't have much stuff with you. You have to be very conscious about what you need! We found out with time that all we need on the road is a book, some board games and a camping chair to enjoy the view 🤖 As well, we try to enjoy the small moments and each others' company as much as we can 😍

Last week I was able to fulfill a life long dream of being a kite in a giant white sandstorm.
Looking down at the lowest point in North America. Check out the last picture. You can barely notice it, but the white sign in the rocks is the sea level marker. At 282 feet below sea level the ground is so salty we licked a little off our finger.
There are so many ways to go about earning an income while living nomadically. 👉👉 We love hearing how others make their financial equations work on the road: travel nursing, remote work 9-5 with companies they worked for previously, essential oil sales, seasonal jobs, or freelancers/bloggers like us. What else? The list goes on... We also prepared to live nomadically by paying off all our debt (100K), saving up and building freelance skills before quitting our full-time jobs but we still learn something new almost every day out here. Everyone’s risk tolerance is different. Ours was pretty low so we honored that by preparing. There’s no *right way* just what you feel comfortable with.

Attack of the bed-hogging doggo! 🐶🚐🤣 x
Whilst these last 5+ months have been a massive challenge - Staying in the one place instead of travelling around, juggling seperate jobs with only one vehicle between us (which also happens to be our house 🙈), parking each night in our mates backyard etc,
there have been a few big positives.
One being that we’ve been around to watch this dopey dork grow from plush polarbear puppy to lanky hyperactive adolescent. (SWIPE 👉🏼 for a baby faced Jesse. What a cutie. 👶🏼😍) x
Less than 2 weeks until we’re back on the road though!
Wonder if we could smuggle the doggo along with us.
Maybe wrap him up in the doona and pass him off for an extra fat pillow?...
We may not have exchanged presents today, but I get the gift of adventure 365 days a year with you #HappyValentinesDay
Case and point: the adventure of swapping lives with our buds @tioaventurabus for 24 hours and in turn gaining 200 sq feet and two furry friends. ↡ ↡
Want to see behind the scenes of us playing house in our dream skoolie?!? Or better yet want to watch @mariijosemua use my pee funnel 🙀?!? Head to the link in my bio for the 24 HR TINY HOUSE SWAP video that is bound to make you L O L 😂.
