Finally - we made it! Cruise Control is up an running. But let me tell you one thing - it was quite a journey! We changed not just the lever, but also the control module itself, as the old one wasn’t meant for having a cruise control installed. The cruise control was working right away with the new control module, but electric windows just wouldn’t close anymore - we had to dive deep into settings until we found the fix. 🙈 so make sure you got the right module already installed, before you start. 😉

#nofilter needed on this one. Nothing like the open road to bring on the most epic sunsets and sunrises. People always ask me, “don’t you get tired of driving?” My answer is simply, “Nope.” I get so lit up and inspired as soon as my energy is alone. The channels open, the ideas flow. As an ambivert, I light up around people and I also downright require alone time. Driving around in my dream house, visiting my people, gives me lots of both. #getoutside#liveyourdream#vanbuilder#solotravel#roadwarrior
She’s coming together! Crossing off a bunch of little things on the list this week. Last night we built this rad copper faucet and got it installed in the counter. The rest of the plumbing and the propane system will be done today and then we’re on to window trim and upper cabinets! Stoked to be getting close to being done with this baby! If you love it and want it to be yours, DM us to call dibs!

I just had to do it...

Ever been surprised by a state or region you’d never thought twice about? New Mexico was a place that blew our minds. Ever heard of Pie Town, New Mexico? Yea, we hadn’t either until driving through NM from Albuquerque towards Arizona via highway 60!
#tbt Version 1.2 of our “company van”... of @_korduroy_ fame. We’ve come a long way, changed it up, uncovered walled-over windows, taken down partition walls and removed the small shower stall and microwave. I still found this version pretty cozy, but we sure have learned a lot about wants versus needs!
Switched gears a bit for the last few days building out this sweet sleeping platform in a Toyota Tacoma. It’s got tons of storage and a full 12v electrical system in the back complete with a 100Ah AGM battery and overhead lighting. We’re really happy with how it turned out and our client is stoked to go break it in exploring Escalante and Capitol Reef National Park. Where would you take yours on it’s maiden voyage? .
Have you been dreaming about making your truck camper or van more comfy while you’re exploring? Hit us up! We’re scheduling for November and December!

Shaving weigh can be as simple as using 2x2 framing for cabinets, etc. this counter in the kitchen is plenty hearty... it’s been cooked on for years, driven down miles of washboard and flexed through some washed out desert and national forest roads, and still going strong!
This is my grandmother and uncle at the kitchen of the old camp trailer... I think it NEEDS to be rebuilt! My uncle told me it had a “washing machine” too... two ammo canisters, one to wash and one to rinse!

We moved into a “winter rental” yesterday. Last winter we may or may not have been living in the van while working on a ganja farm... and the year before that was torture, living out of the van in New England winter until late February. We were waking up with a foot or more of snow blanketing poor Lola 🚐. It’s been more than four months since we’ve slept in a real house. We are happy to be hunkering down for the winter here on the east coast while we work on future projects, the biggest being @camperoverland . We are giddy, knowing the leaves 🍁 will start changing soon and autumn will be in full swing! Rach is already eating and drinking everything pumpkin spice 🤦🏼♂️...

Progress is being made! I have been focusing mostly on the driver side of the van recently. Took a few weeks to get it all together, but I'm super happy with the results. •First I laid down sheet vinyl flooring and secured it at the edges with staples and a trim strip at the two door openings. •The black boxes on the driver side wall are custom sized bench seat boxes that I welded and had powder coated. Since there will occasionally be more than 2 people riding in the van I figured it would be a good idea to add some stable seating for 2 more passengers. These boxes have seat belt brackets incorporated into them and are bolted all the way through the metal van flooring and frame. •I then wrapped the metal box frames in maple plywood to make it an additional storage area. 3/4" Baltic birch plywood was used as the actual seat part that slips onto the top of the boxes. •Finally I cut an oak butcher block panel to be the table in between the two seats. At times when the table isn't being used, the center post drops down and allows the seats to transform into a 6' bench or bed for someone that wants to sleep in the van.

It’s as if I like dumpy looking things. This was my dads utility trailer. It sat for the last 3 years, maybe longer. Before all that, it was a home-built trailer camper that my grandfather used for family camping. Excited to get this thing rolling to camp again!
Spent the majority of today working on the back of the van. We finished out the week strong by getting 99% of the rear cargo area trim installed, the wiring in for the rear LED light strip and it’s switch, all the major electrical components installed, wired and working, the wheel wells insulated, the sink and stove top mounted to the counter and placed and a handful of other odds and ends crossed off the list. Stoked on all the progress this week! T minus 3 weeks till she’ll be ready for her future owners! Could it be you?? DM is for more info!

Sound-deadening big ol’ rolling tin cans... pretty damn effective!
Well, today was a great success! All the bench tops and the center panel are upholstered and ready for trim and hardware! We used a 4” memory foam mattress for the cushions and our final dimensions of the bed are 67x80” which is actually bigger than standard queen and it’s super comfy. Love it??! She’s for sale! DM for more info!

A reminder that it doesn’t take much to get a vehicle from dumpy and velour-filled to rolling down dirt roads with all the camping accessories right on-board! These older American vans are still plentiful and cheap to maintain... so consider looking for one as a base for your camper build-out!

Getting the benches dialed, countertop, sink and stovetop installed and the panels ready to start upholstery tomorrow! The center panel of the bed pulls out and becomes the backrest for the rear wall, allowing 5 people to sit on the benches comfortably! We’re psyched! If you love this build, it can be yours! DM for more info!
Side benches placed and almost finished. Waiting on some hardware and we still have to do the upholstery and they’ll be done! Stoked for next week when we can install these bad boys. If you like the van and want to call dibs, DM me! She’ll be ready for her new owners by early October! #vanlife#sprintervanconversion#customcampervan@vanlifetrader
