This is Nick- one of our expert tour guides. He's not just kind and helpful to our customers, he's also a wealth of information. We asked him to give us 3 things about DC that most people don't know- and we were quite intrigued by his response. -----------------------------------
1. How many of us have daydreamed about watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace in London? Turns out you don’t have to travel to European palaces to see traditional routines like these. Arlington National Cemetery has a changing of the guard ritual every hour on the hour from October to March, and every half hour from April to September. You’ll be sure to see this during the Arlington National Cemetery & DC Highlights Tour.
2. Another one of the best things for sightseers interested in politics to do, is to watch the Supreme Court argue. Oral arguments are open to the public and free to attend (on a first-come-first-served basis). All you have to do is make sure the Court is in session and show up early enough.
3. Speaking of politics and turning up early: if you book in advance with a tour operator, you get priority access to the Capitol Building. This includes a guided walk and an orientation film outlining the foundation of the United States Congress. With us, that means booking the DC Deluxe Tour, which also includes a bus tour through the National Mall, and the history behind the sights. Are you excited to find out more surprising facts & unknown tips like these? My best recommendation is to join one of our tours, so expert guides (like me) can tell you all about it.

Coming home, Chicago’s union station was decorated for Christmas!!! It is a beautiful building, and then adding Christmas decor, it just made it magical!!! The train ride was lovely as well. I met a few really great people. I had a meal in the cafe (nothing like sitting at a table, enjoy a meal & some nice scenery going by. There was also an observation car that I spent some time in. Top to bottom windows, & seats that faced outwards. It felt so fast, & was such an enjoyable experience! It was really nice to end on a positive since the trip got off to a really rough start!
Today is National Happy Hour Day! Now if you know me (or viewed my Insta stories) you know I love happy hour. My co-worker @malcolmthesavior recently called me the happy hour queen and it was such a compliment lol.
In high school my best friend @colltm would come over after school and I made virgin cocktails for us while we gossiped and watched episodes of Maury or “The Hills.”
Happy hour now consists of me getting together with co-workers or old friends while sipping on discounted drinks and food specials. I landed my current job by going to a happy hour. It’s my time to destress, laugh and have a causal good time.
Basically this day was made for me!
