Tunesday! Listen to some Foy Vance tonight. Some of it, all of it. It's worth your time. It Was Good and You Can Take All the Time Love ... #foyvance#Tunesday
I was so honored to be asked to sing "Hallelujah" at my best friends wedding. I'll never forget the day I was asked. I grabbed my guitar, learned the chords, and sang the song in my living room over and over again. I wanted to be prepared. I had about 364 more days to practice. I wanted to make the song special, while making it my own. One might find that extremely hard considering the 10 billion covers out there. But I listened to 2 very specific versions for inspiration; Justin Timberlake's performance at the Hope 4 Haiti event, and Kate Voegele's cover from "One Tree Hill." I threw in a few of my own ingredients, and there it was. I can't believe how nervous I was!! I had maybe 1 wedding singing gig under my belt at the time, and I know if this was tomorrow I would be much more relaxed. But to be fair, it was in a church during the ceremony for my BFF. Who wouldn't be nervous!? This is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful moments of the song. The second verse was meant to build and be the most emotional, leading into a wonderfully genius guitar solo, performed by her brother Joe Asprea. P.S. Church acoustics are THE BEST kind

👀 would you be down to listen to a twenty second tune on this fine Tuesday?
#Tunesday Oof. This was surprisingly tough. I’m not a “guitarist” so I wanted to try something outside of my wheelhouse.
It was fun and makes me want to take lessons!

Happy #Tunesday 🎶🎶 —————————————
Want to learn this tune? Just posted a video teaching the full tune by ear, and another to get you started on style and variations. This tune is called The Crooked Road to Dublin. (You can find the sheet music in my ebook - link in bio) ———————————————✨
Currently, I am attempting to learn Martin Hayes’ variations. All of them! Wooftahhh . This is f*ing hard! Hence the very serious death stare of concentration BuT wait for that smile break on the last variation. Those that know me well, know that this means I completely botched it. Lol - this is why we practice. —————-
Come learn this tune with me! Happy fiddling ❤️Kiana
