Life is a lot like a roller coaster, anticipation for what’s to come, followed by a lot of uncertainty, ending in one wild ride. @challengedaytona was definitely a magical roller coaster ride last weekend. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Race course was cut short due to high winds and rain/thunderstorms, but the officials did their best to still give us an unbelievable experience. From swimming at Lake Lloyd, followed by riding two loops around the Daytona Racetrack before heading towards the beach, and then ending with a half marathon around the track as well.
Despite the awful weather conditions, it was probably one of coolest race venue I have ever been!

내년에는 어떤 일기장들이 내 목에 걸릴지 기대된다.
왕관의 무게처럼 뒷목이 점점 무거워지기도 하겠지만 그만큼 고개가 숙여지기도 하겠다. 영원히 지울 수 없는 자랑스러운 발톱의 멍 처럼 항상 고마운 분들을 생각하며 초심 잃지 않고 겸손하게 2019년도 달려 나가겠습니다.

▪️3 limited TOTO’s Medal
I'm looking forward to how many medals I'll get on my neck next year.
Like the weight of the crown, the back of the neck will become heavier, but the head will be lowered. Like the bruises on my proud toenails that can't erase forever, I'm going to run for 2019 without losing my mind.

A shout out to the best bike shop I’ve ever worked with. Since landing on the island over four years ago @bikeworkskona has been like family to me. Mahalo for getting me through every race safe and fast. I never am afraid to go full throttle on my steed at every race. If you haven’t noticed, for an age grouper—I travel a lot. And my bike needs to be In prime shape at each race location. Bike Works takes care of that for me each time. .
Also, a new addition to my ride this last race was a pair of solid road shoes. Vern from the shop helped me find the perfect shoes. I decided to ditch the gimmicky, triathlon shoe design and go for a pair of foot-huggers that wrap my dogs up like gloves. The energy transfer is so efficient and reactive! The ride is amazing in these and I really owe it to Bike Works for picking them out for me, getting me sized right and ordering through their channels just the proper pair. Thanks for getting me to that age group win Bike Works! I still can’t believe it! See you all out on the road. .

Strength, stretching and mobility training — otherwise known as bodywork — are crucial to your triathlon program. I recommend that you always include bodywork in your training, even if you have to give up some of your swim, bike and run sessions to do so.
