Don’t forget to follow On The Road Magazine on Facebook to keep up to date with current issues and the stories you’ll find inside ~ like mine! I managed to capture this gorgeous view above Trial Bay Gaol despite having seen a snake disappear into the bush from the path I was walking on. 😱 Confession time...this photo was taken while I was standing on a bench seat just in case the snake came back. 😬 Must get the shot though. #trialbaygaol#ontheroadmagazine#southwestrocks@australia@visitnsw
Ern: “This is so relaxing. The sound of the ocean. The sea breeze in my hair...”
Daph: “..in your hair?!?!”

The kombi has prime position, overlooking Trial Bay, a sunset view from the back window. The kombi looks cute as a button and right at home in this stunning setting.
The Gaol is well worth a visit, so much interesting history surrounded by nature’s beauty, with views of whales and dolphins swimming in the ocean.
Daph thinks, if she had to be incarcerated, this is where she’d choose to get locked up. #trialbaygaolcampground#trialbaygaol#kombi#nomads#kangaroos#sunset
Took the win in my debut half marathon (21.1km) at the 38th annual South West Rocks Running Festival - 01:20:35.
Felt absolutely untouchable until, I blinked at 15km and the legs crumbled. I led the entire race from start to finish, just rolling along felling a million bucks. I had a 60sec lead at half way and was on track for a high 1hr 16min finish time.
I didn't feel any kinda fatigue until everything shut down on me around 15km in. I looked back with about 2km left and saw 2nd place closing in on me. It was this moment I dug deep crossing the line, winning by less than 10sec.
Epic race, I definitely underestimated the course, it was quite undulating and technical, but very scenic.
I will be back, definitely not indicative of what I'm capable of, but it sets a benchmark for future attempts.
Overall, a greatly humbling experience, great atmosphere, great people and a big congratulations to all competitors, volunteers, organisers and sponsors. #southwestrocksrunningfestival#macleayrivermarathon
