After sharing a hot cup of tea with Kodi and Meena at their beautiful Dutch home in Galle, Sri Lanka, they will take you to this fish market where locals flock to purchase the day's fresh catch. Pick out seafood for your day's meal, barter with the local fisherman, and then return home to help prepare an authentic Sri Lankan meal. You will help to make Sri Lankan classics like ambul thiyal (tamarind clay pot fish), dhal (lentils cooked with coconut milk), and fish curry before dining in their picturesque, teracotta-tiled dining room overlooking the garden.

Ella is a hiking hotspot in the mountain country of Sri Lanka. Some of the views from hikes in Ella are phenomenal with the region well known for its tea plantations and spectacular mountain ranges. If you want to enjoy some of the best views without needing to hike for hours, Little Adam’s Peak is the perfect trek, especially for an unforgettable sunset. 🇱🇰
Children walking on the railway tracks to catch a train at 6.45am in Hikkaduwa. Sri Lanka has no health and safety but they don't need it. People are responsible and have that freedom. Back home irresponsible people throw rocks and stones at passing trains and vandalise the train tracks. Here, every morning passersbys say, "hello sir, good morning" and I respond back to them with a pleasant greeting too. Love life love Sri Lanka love the people here. 💙🙏🏼 thank you for making my time blissful.

You may fall in love with every route you travel Sri Lanka.. Colombo to Kandy is one such 3hr journey that takes you to some awesome places in this city.
Temple of the sacred Tooth relic is one such that has great history of Lord Gautam Buddha. Nearby is a Lake and a cultural Centre where you can see the Kandyan dance.( do not wear short clothes while visiting any temple in Sri Lanka else the street vendors are ready to price you bomb for traditional pyjama/scarfs!! 😰) Kandy has lot of good cafes: KCC food court on the main street has mutlicuisine kiosks. Kandyan Muslim Hotel serves authentic Sri Lankan dishes namely Kottu, Rice and curries etc.
Finding some shade 200m in the sky on top of Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock 🦁🇱🇰 ⠀
My tips? Start your walk early to avoid the heat and the crowds ☀️ Carry water 💦 Wear secure shoes 👟 Bring cash for your tickets 💰 Don’t mess with the monkeys (I feel like this is just a general life rule) 🐒 and don’t forget to explore the beautiful sprawling gardens once you’ve climbed back down! 🌱

Standing where kings once stood. This is my second time climbing sigiriya rock and @shehaan23 ‘s 8th or 9th time and it was still worth it!
If you are curious about how difficult the climb will be, I would say it is challenging but completely doable and totally worth it when you make it to the top! Since you are gonna be putting in the effort to climb, it’s definitely advisable to either read up on the history of the place beforehand or even to get a guide (prices vary and you can try bargaining too) as this will truly enrich the experience!
Sigiriya is unofficially considered the 8th wonder of the world, this domineering rock was selected by King Kashyapa to be his fortress and he built his palace upon it. .
Sigiriya is also an absolute engineering marvel and like most ancient structures, there are something’s about its construction that still remain a mystery to date. Perhaps that is what is most alluring about this monument.
On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure — Sīnhāgiri, the Lion Rock.

My Udawalawe safari with @lakpura is on the blog today! Link in bio!
We saw at least 12 elephants (including a couple of babies!) on this safari and I was basically in heaven. 🐘 Not to mention the beautiful landscapes, the colorful birds (have you ever seen peacocks on safari?! 🦚), the massive water buffalo 🐃, and the most epic sunset to top it off.
My blog post covers everything you need to know to plan your visit to this bucket-list-worthy National Park in Sri Lanka, including what to expect, a safari packing list, when to go, where to stay & eat, recommendations for ethical elephant experiences (you won’t want to miss this one!), and tons of photos to set your wanderlust in overdrive. 🙌🏼
Go check it out and leave a comment on the blog to let me know your thoughts! 💻
