Fossil records date stingrays back to the Jurassic period, 150 million years ago! How cool is that?! 🦕🦖
Unfortunately these friendly, curious and gentle sea animals have gotten a bad rep for something that happened over 10 years ago. And because of this now people fear them and refer to them as dangerous creatures 😣. This is far from the truth, they are the cutest gentle, loving sea babies 🥰 that just want to rub against you and playfully explore what you are. Stingrays generally do not attack aggressively or even actively defend themselves. When threatened, their primary reaction is to swim away. Fatal stings are very rare; when Steve Irwin was killed in 2006, it was only the second case recorded in Australia since 1945. Of course, be cautious when being around any sea life, but never let fear hold you back from enjoying the company of the amazing marine life! 🐙🐡
In total contrast with the current weather (for once!) here is another photo on different woods in a different country.
We took this photo 4 years ago when honeymooning (sans kids) in Japan, more specifically in the Kumano Kodo mountain area.
This was possibly the best hardest trek we did.
To summarise it, the Kumano Kodo is an old pilgrimage route that goes through the Kii peninsula mountains in the Wakayama prefecture (which is to the East of Osaka).
The day started cloudy but dry, we did 3/4 of the way and ended up in the main shrine Kumano Hongu Taisha. Having looked at the map I decided we could definitely walk some more to get to our ryokan in Yunomine, where one of Japan's oldest onsen is located, so we walked through the Otorii in Hongu, the largest torii gate in Japan, and started climbing the hill (mountain more like) that stood in our way. The maps told us it was only a few miles to get there but what we weren't expecting was how much rain it started to fall, making climbing a mountain (and descending it) 10x more difficult. We fell numerous times, slipped and even spotted a crab (?) in the middle of nowhere.
But then we reached our ryokan and got to relax on their own private onsen. We were so tired that we didn't have the strength to try our the famous old onsen, which you have to book in advance since it is basically a shed by a hot water stream. Next time!
The point of this post is that we persevered and we did manage to climb that mountain, regardless of how wet we were and how sore we felt.

I've always wanted to go to beaches. But, bitch, I've this obsessive thinking of horrifying deep-see scanarios and, its more of a nightmare and not a wet dream. 🌊

“Do you ever feel like Pocahontas when you paddle a canoe?” *immediately puts on the entire movie soundtrack. The best afternoon with the dude who has been there for all of my shenanigans. (But also my favorite story is that time Kevin went to prison in Belize & got a lip tattoo in Guatemala all within a week. Ask me for deets😉).

Our trip to Austin is over and we had a blast!
Our big kids didn’t want to go, we’re taking them somewhere this summer. We miss them so much and are so ready to get back to them and our animals 💙
If you have a chance to visit Austin, do it!!!

Happy birthday to this guy @mattmckenna90 ✨✨✨ I hope you have a wonderful day 💕 here’s to hoping the adventure never stops 🍻
Hiking through the tea fields in the Cameron Highlands was such a cool experience! And speaking of cool, due to the higher elevation the temperature here is a bit cooler, which was a nice break from the heat wave in KL & Thailand!
Just another jawesome pic from my scuba diving adventure. Oh wait. That’s @ripleysaquaca. 🤦🏼♀️ We are in the throes of brown slushy-ice-puddles (aka, springtime in Canada) so are all-in on the findoor activities. (The puns are back, baby!) Who’s up for a pun-off? Let’s hear ‘em.
Fiji is somewhere we only scratched the surface of so we’d love to go back and see more☀️ although we normally try not to go to places more than once there are 330 islands that make up Fiji and we have only explored 3!
What about you? Do you go back to the same places or are you a one visit kinda person?🌏

I love this quote so much. It reminds me that we all have PURPOSE ✨ & such MAGIC inside of us. We just need to tap into that magic, go with our gut & keep pushing forward...
Make no mistake, life is not easy. This industry is not easy. That’s not what it’s all about, in fact, without the challenges 💪🏽 , life is simply not as interesting. Growth doesn’t come from things that are easy & things that are amazing take time 🙏🏽
Whatever it is you are pushing for, KEEP PUSHING. I believe in you! 💕🤘🏽
