What a difference a couple of days make... the same spot we were just at Tuesday full of snow now nothing so we ended up hiking that trail fun little day besides the ice rain it felt like lol (swipe to the end to see a time lapse of me coming down 3/4 of the mountain) #venus#pitbull#pitbullsofinstagram#walkerspass#trails
Thanks to some poor planning in my part, I forgot my jacket at home and my warmest clothes were peed on by a dog on the first day of the trip so I tossed it. I spent my week in Jasper with a beach towel wrapped around my waist to keep warm in the high altitude and borrowed a sweater from my friends! 😅 Fail.
I can't stress this enough, even in peak summer the ice fields of the Rocky Mountains are super cold! And yet the scenery is so beautiful you'll want to be outside all day! On day hikes, glacier tours, or photography sessions.
This is a shot from the top of Parker Ridge, well above the tree line with panoramic views
Got attacked by a tree throwing snow. 😂😂 Apparently, I have good timing. Snow was falling off my tree and I ran underneath it at just the right time and caught some on my hat. Last little run before a #restday tomorrow.
Hike 3/3 with @claytonmullendore and Moose, windy, but amaze as usual! Then a quick workout and some calf raises per my PT peeps on a step I made from the kiddos old bunkbed. Then dinner, saved all my carbs for this! Ha! Happy Thursday everyone!
Today felt like I failed miserably. Hill repeats we're too long (70sec) & too hard & I ended up passing my lactate threshold early and then fell apart. I adapted the workout and did 9 rounds. I was all over the place. In hindsight, though it felt like hell and I was disappointed in my performance, I still got some miles in and I got 60 min of muddy trail work in. Today I showed up. 6 miles.
