A COMMUNITY CIRCLE/ TOWN HALL DISCUSSION ZOOM WEBINAR
SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2019 / 10AM-12PM PST AND 1PM-3PM EST
MODERATED BY JANA LYNNE "JL" UMIPIG @jlcreator
We have heard the call from community to speak on concerns and questions around our upcoming conference. Particularly, concerns held by our Kapatid who attended our last Conference, in regards to the vision and the agenda of the conference and how our Diasporic Cultural/Ritual/Ceremony work will be held in a good way.
We want to make time for our community to be held and heard, and for us to address openly and transparently the concerns of our those who have, who still and who seek to walk and support the sacred work we are continuing. As a diasporic run organization, we understand the work that must be done to hold all who continue to support the movements of CfBS.
We hope to have more of these opportunities, but feel it important to address the specific concerns we have heard that have drawn people away from joining us in this year's conference in Toronto.
After you register a link will be sent to you to join us on the Zoom Webinar.

At the heart of Poznan’s colorful main square is the historic Town Hall, where throngs of people gather before noon to see two tin goats appear and butt heads 12 times, just as they’ve done since 1551. Legend has it that back in the 16th century, a chef was cooking an elaborate feast for the mayor and visiting dignitaries – but, distracted by the festivities, the roast deer he was preparing ended up falling off the spit straight into the fire, burning to a crisp. Having no more venison and desperate to save the meal (and his own neck) he grabbed two goats from a nearby meadow but they escaped and ran off towards Town Hall, up the stairs into the tower and came out onto the turret where they locked horns and began to battle it out. The crowd that gathered below included the mayor and his guests who were more charmed than angry so pardoned the chef…and the goats. A new clock was already being made for the Town Hall so the mayor ordered that the two goats be added, and so every day you too can see them come out - cuckoo-clock style!
