Goat Howl Theatre (www.goathowl.com) is looking for additional collaborators for ‘Dinner With Madness’ – Paid position in Toronto, ON.
A little about the show: “Every dinner party includes good food, light conversation, laughter and merry-making. Goat Howl Theatre invites you to join around a long table for a dinner party with all that and a creative twist. Three ‘mad’ identified artists take you on a kaleidoscopic journey through the trials, tribulations and celebrations of living with mental health struggles. At any moment you might experience them singing sweet melodies, dancing in fury around the table, confronting inner bullies, and speaking frankly to loved ones about the effect mental health has on relationships. Break bread with the artists, get to know them, and together, you will build bridges of understanding and alter negative stigma.” Our ensemble of ‘mad’ identified artists is looking for 1 – 2 performers who identify as mad artists (have lived experience with mental illness) and would like to share their experience as a mad person with an audience. Performers must either have devising experience or experience making their own original performance work.
Priority will go to people of color and LGBTQ individuals.
New team members will learn existing sections of the show and collaborate with current team to integrate themselves into the pieces. Additionally, new team members will function as a lead artist to create 1 – 2 pieces of their own that will be imbedded into the show.
Send an email with your headshot, resume, link to original work samples, a short paragraph briefly describing your creative practice, and your availability for the first two weeks in Feb. We will be setting up in-person interviews during the first weeks of February.
Please subject the email as "Submission for Dinner With Madness 2019"

A message from #filmproduction graduate @fivefeetabove and our #mondaymotivation “Never forget the days where I was just a broke student and didn't have enough money for bus fare, I’d beg my mom just so I could go to school. Never forget the days where I'd edit in a local Starbucks for 12 hours straight just for the hell of it and didn't even have $5 to buy a cup of coffee. Never forget the days where I would ask my friends to be in my videos, just so I could direct and shoot. Never forget the days where I was dying to finish my bachelors degree just so I could go to film school and do what I fell in love with. Never forget the days where I felt no one was supporting me because I was entering a male dominated career. I love what I have now, but I’ll never forget where I started and I’ll never forget the ones that got me to where I am. Thank you🙏” #torontofilmschool#createyourownstory

Light and Sound in the documentary competition of the 22nd Denver Underground Film Festival.
نورو و صدا در بخش رقابت مستندهای بیست و دومین دوره جشنواره فیلمهای زیرزمینی دنور در ایالت کلرادو در آمریکا
The Denver Underground Film Festival was inspired by the Sunday film parlors organized by Colorado's film educator Stan Brakhage. The festival premiers avant garde, underground, and experimental art films in both fiction and documentary.
It's my pleasure to present Light and Sound in the competition of the 2018 festival.

This past year has been a big journey in letting go. Mostly of “shoulds”. And “supposed to be’s”. And not caring how I appear and how others perceive me. It’s not easy and some days I get sucked into old patterns of thoughts and behaviour that have been conditioned within me for decades. But seeing the shift in my work as an actor, a choreographer, a writer and all other creative pursuits has been a pretty incredible journey. What would change in your life if you chose to just “let go”??
