Started my weekend with an indulgent Friday night at a suite in @thetillary boutique hotel in downtown Brooklyn 🥰 A king size bed, good company, a bottle of wine, board games in our room, & some takeout pizza—it was the perfect start to a wild weekend! .

Lounging in @thetillary and enjoying their amazing guest service and ambience! Fun fact: I used to briefly work here as a Bartender (before I broke my foot last year) and moved up to closely work with their amazing social media team to create magic for the brand! I am so honored to be partnering up with #thetillary !! Can’t wait to share what we’re working on! STAY TUNED! 📸: @johnnykomodo .
New blog post is up on the hotel we stayed during NYFW ❤️ this is in the cute little coffee shop they have downstairs @thetillary ☕️ (also, thanks @hairbychandler for letting your YSL make an appearance 😂) #thetillary

My kind of date night 🍫🥧 @burgerking takeout in bed! We got to try the @twix pie in New York and it was to die for 😋
Where #Brooklyn at?
Been back in #NYC for a few days. Had the pleasure of staying at the sweetest hotel in #BK and hot spot @thetillary. So many memories. So much personal history in #NYC , #NJ and Brooklyn in particular. While I am #NJ raised, my Northeast roots can be traced to #BK where Mary’s grandmother Ellen and her uncle Lloyd Bishop migrated from North Carolina via Portsmouth, VA purchasing 4 brownstones on and around Lexington Avenue near Nostrand Avenue in #Bedstuy in the late 1940s.
Growing up outside of my beloved hometown of #Newark , NJ, Mary often talked about her beloved adopted home borough of Brooklyn (she moved to Newark to be with my grandfather Howard who was a Newark native), meeting her best friend Beulah on Fulton and Flatbush Aves, spending time on Atlantic Avenue and how the black community really meant family ties.
When I moved to #boerumhill in 2001 and Mary would visit and stay for weekends, we would drive through downtown, Ft. Greene, and BedStuy, #williamsburg and she would marvel at the changes the community had experienced. I’m sure she never imagined a chic establishment like #TheTillary would rest right beyond the entrances of The Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. But it does!
So Mary, this one’s for you! #Brooklyn lives in me for you.
