Have you ever seen a more elegant Bride, Groom, Gown & Venue? I think not. What a stunner Caitlin was sporting a @moniquelhuillier dress with pure grace. Not far behind her very smart looking husband Michael who she was so smitten to marry on Saturday at the ever romantic Cathedral of St Stephan, Brisbane. It sure was a wet one over the weekend which ruled out a lot of outdoor photo possibilities, but luckily for us we had one of the premium & gorgeous venues to work with in @tattersallsracingclub. The evening then spilled into some soft jazz, port & whisky. Just the way I like it. What a time to be alive! #graemepassmoreweddings
Tattersall’s Landscape Art prize has now finished for 2018. However was lucky enough to have someone contact #Bernie Hollett after the event saying he had to have this one. 🎉🎨 so another sold. Thanks Bernie for all your wonderful work for Tattersall’s Art Prize. #paintingssold#loved_one#tattersallsclub#sunset

#CurtinHouse really is a #VerticalLaneway, with stuff going on at night (though of course every building in the nightclub district of Tokyo is a vertical laneway too). Anyway, an early design by #HarryNorris, it was built in 1922 as the #TattersallsClub, which went bust in the 1930s. It seems to have been renamed Curtin House in the late 40s, when it was largely leased by Catholic organisations, but it’s unclear whether it was named after WW2 prime minister John Curtin (a lapsed Catholic), who died in office in 1945, and if so, why. Also occupied by the communist party in the late 30s/early 40s, but no connection to Curtin, who was not a communist.

Cookie in #CurtinHouse was originally built in 1922 as the #TattersallsClub, a place for men in the #horseracing industry to meet and imbibe. Rather OTT classical details still there if you look up, a bit hidden in the clutter; the bar itself isn’t original but the mens #urinals are ! And the stair, with it’s two tone marble walling and timber balustrade, and a #stainedglass window too.
