Hi friends! I'm now back in Toronto, happily spending the rest of the long weekend with my family! It's been a full week since I last posted in here so I will be posting a series of Pinya Letters updates during my time at @pinaypowerii in Montreal.
First of is the launch of the 3M (Maarte, Maldita, Maganda) tote bags. My original plan is to do a pre-sale of these bags at Pinay Power II, then officially launch the bags today. But this idea failed when all the bags I have sold out at the conference! But don't worry, as I plan on launching either new designs or more tote bags soon! 💛 So if you're interested in purchasing, comment below so that this gal can produce enough merch for y'all.
Swipe to see more and read about the tote bag production process in collaboration with the cool kids of @westnh_nyp's Art of Silk-screening group! ✨
DESCRIPTION: Daniel Kerrington is a multimillionaire's son. He's got the whole package: blonde hair, piercing blue eyes.. killer lips. He's absolute swoon-worthy. Too bad his personality is so full of shit. Daniel Kerrington is arrogant. Cocky. Insufferable. A walking one night stand. Ever since our horrible encounter two months ago, we have pretty much established the fact that we hate each other. So there's no reason for the both of us to cross paths anymore, right? Wrong. Now that my parents' company has gone bankrupt, they have to turn to his father for help. Harry Kerrington offers to help the company and my parents on one condition: I'm to be engaged to his son. So basically I'm thrown together with the guy I loathe for the next three years of my life. Daniel and I have to push our feelings of mutual hatred aside and play our own part in making our fake engagement believable. We've got a lot to do if we want to make this work. But little did we know that we would be so wrapped up in our very own perfect illusion.
Ok so I made this acc a while ago and it was named attemptingtolearnalanguage but i changed it to art because I wanted to post multiple things on here (including me learnign a language). So don’t be surprised if you get hit with random posts about tagalog or a dance video lmao.
・・・ #DiyanMasalanta , the #Tagalog goddess of love, childbirth and peace is symbolic of the archetypal feminine - the benevolent force that represents a container for growth and brings us joy through beauty and connection, much like Venus. In the #Zodiac sign of Taurus, the beauty of Venus is then grounded into the Earth and physical pleasure.
Life’s pleasures are the same for us all; We all want ease, abundance, prosperity and security. Diyan Masalanta aligns us to the fundamental gift of our birthright, to experience love - Love as sensuality, love as true security, love as the beautiful Earth beneath our feet. Taurus season is always a time to align with what gives us peace and security, and the heart of Taurus season is a refresher in the core values that your livelihood is built around. Working with this month’s energy involves a sense of flexibility to adjust to sudden inspiration, as well as a need to ground into your goals for security.
Did you know I was a teen mom? I had my first born at 19 years old. I got #pregnant during my second year at UC Davis. I had plans to go to med school.
I’m no stranger to #shame . I felt #ashamed with the labels “young mom”, “teen mom”, “single mom”. In shame, you have feelings of being rejected and not being enough. I feared I wouldn’t fit in and regarded as not good enough, but just a waste.
That narrative didn’t feel true to me. I decided to put blinders on and stay in my own lane to do what I need for myself and the life I was going to bring in the world. I was going to make a life for my child and no one’s words would change that.
Leaning into humility, I did what I needed to get it done. I accepted federal assistance, WIC. I pushed on despite voices saying, “kawawa naman” (“that poor thing” in my native language #Tagalog ), as I’d bring my toddler to class for nursing labs or projects.
I felt #pride the day I graduated with honors and a nursing degree, toddler and family by my side.
A label that was a stigma, for me, was the birth of my drive, passion, and strong character.
Today, my firstborn is this #beauty . Sweet, thoughtful, witty, funny, smart, strong, and in so many ways my #bff .
Today, we’re living our bestest lives! #Easter is meant to symbolize hope, renewal, and new life.
Life brings moments of darkness but find that hope. Hope is seeing that there is #light despite all of the darkness.
I dont (just) post for THUMBS UP/LIKE, I repost contents from my #Steemit blog, where I share and get rewarded with #Steem , a #cryptocurrency , that has been proven helping anyones financial anywhere in the world.
Steemit/Steem is for everyone, unlike Bitcoin, which so far only for the rich.
Buksan (@buksanph) is truly Filipino. It is a Tagalog word that means “open” in English. 🤗
Literally, you open the neatly-packed monthly set of exercises. My boys were so excited to open the package even before we started the shoot! Figuratively, I dare say, Buksan opens our hearts to our beautiful Filipino Language. Further, Buksan opens opportunities for young learners to master the Filipino Language. ❤️
My boys found the exercises easy enough that they enjoyed going through the pages. Each page is simple; hence, easy for young learners to understand. My boys found the exercises fun that they wanted to finish the month’s worth of worksheets in one sitting. I had to pace them.
Buksan offers a convenient, concise and age-appropriate Filipino program. The monthly cost of the exercises is a small price to pay given the quality of the materials.
