Why oh why...
Does anyone else do this?
Every school day I am calmly busy seeing clients, learning all I can, making future doula plans, replying to emails, and so on
But when my alarm goes off, warning me it is half an hour before I have to pick up my twinks from school, I go into overdrive
And so begins thirty minutes of what I can only describe as utter housekeeping madness...
Unload the dishwasher, hang out at least two loads of washing, find something for dinner, unpack bread and milk and unnecessary extra shopping, make calls to dentist, plumber, osteopath and the rest of the world, hang up on third ppi call of the day, weed the front garden, leave for school, go back inside to grab after school fruit snack, leave for school again, walk up the hill at top speed with minus 3 minutes to go, get to school only for the twinks to be let out late, stand at the gates a sweaty relieved mess
Please tell me I’m not alone in this daily, last minute child free mayhem spectacular?! 😳🤪❤️
Wow was it sweaty this morning. As well as the normal S&C session this morning I had to catch up all on the rowing for this weeks challenge. I did 1000km straight after class and then just went bugger it and did the rest in one hit...3000kms. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. #sweatymess#rowingmachine#omaa12wkchallenge2018
Day 2️⃣ of lots of cuddles. Little girl is just feeling a bit off from getting her vaccines 💜 But no rashes - high fever - or severe reactions, which is good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Today was a rest day for me - cause little girl just wanted me 💕 Which I am totally fine with. I have to take all the cuddles when she still wants them ❤️
It’s been awhile, buuuuut I’m back😆. Getting my sweat on this morning with my greatest fan, cheerleader and motivator in life. Love her❌⭕️ Truth—I don’t have a lot to lose since giving birth, because I stayed in pretty good shape and ate healthy most of my pregnancy (75-80% of the time 😜)...sooo I’ve used that👆🏻as an excuse not to get back to working out, after being cleared at 6 weeks. I am now 9 weeks postpartum and finally really committing to getting back to a healthy lifestyle—for me, but more importantly for my sweet girls. This momma has plans to be around for a loooooong time💪🏻♥️👶🏻👶🏻. Getting back to being consistent isn’t going to be easy, so I’m thankful for my girlfriends, who have committed to working out and getting back in shape with me. If you’re needing some extra encouragement and accountability, join our group. The only thing required of you, is to cheer on the other women in the group, as they will all be cheering you on along your journey👊🏻. I may be lifting this weight above my head right now but I am willing to bet that I won’t be able to lift my arms to wash my hair tomorrow. 🏋️♀️ Day three of my new eight week program was no joke on the shoulders.
This is what I love about starting a new program. It always works my muscles in a new way. 💪 It always challenges me which means it’s changing me. It’s why it’s important to switch things up every 3 to 4 months. We have to keep challenging our bodies if we want to see change.
30 minute workout today and my shoulders are toast, I’m sweating, I am breathing heavy. 💦🔥👍 Don’t think it’s possible to get a good work out from home in 30 minutes? I am here to prove otherwise. Just keep watching me. I’ll show you in eight weeks because I’m taking this program seriously, including the meal plan!

All the shoulder work! After boxing yesterday that one was a doozy! 😂😂 it was hard but here is the thing, you can do hard things! If I can do it so can you!! Don't listen to your excuses! 💪

Full body day 2....
What a marvellous full body it was. I’m still not feeling amazing mood wise and didn’t really want to get up and work out today, but something I said during my instastory really made me think. I don’t want to and I WONT let my mood affect my workout or my goals long term, but I know that working out will affect my mood in a positive way and help me reach my goals. So like I said, I put my Queen pants on, straightened my crown and cracked on.
C1 was great fun. The uneven lunges were brilliant today and the new combo was just insane! My left side as my standing leg was much better than my right, but I can’t wait to redo this move, practice and see improvements.
C2 was my favourite out of the three I did today. The squatting was excessive but good fun with the press and the new combo of the lunge rotation core twist was just amazing, very #alexiafied 💪 obviously I LOVED the alternating kettle bell swings.
C3 was good but hard. My shoulders were on fire. I did all three rounds of it even though I very much didn’t want to. I didn’t even want to do burpees... WHO EVEN AM I?! I’m really glad I showed up, I know I would’ve felt worse if I hadn’t because there is no time to slot it in this weekend and I do feel better for it. It’s been a long time since I got sick of my own BS, and I long time since I stopped making excuses for not working out. Not going to start again anytime soon thank you very much.
So now for some self care. I’m back on my yoga mat, with a cup of golden milk and I’m going to do a nice practice and then journal, something I’ve not done in a VERY long time. I’m hoping to make this a new routine as long as Ron keeps sleeping on the sofa for naps.
I really hope you’re all ok today and that you’re practising some self care but also SMASHING your workout!

Things will get hard, you’ll have bad days, you’ll worry about how far you still have to go or why someone else is so far ahead of you 🤔... it’s inevitable that these days will happen. 💫They say to fall in love with your body in every stage and some days this will be easier said than done.... when you can no longer see abs and the evil scale goes up, you aren’t sure if enough progress is being made and you see something different in the mirror than everyone else. 🛑
These are the days you need to remember you are not alone, others are feeling the same...
Keep working hard, chasing your dreams, giving it your all and remember that in every season of your life you are blessed. ❤️❤️❤️
