My little princess enjoying making pizza dough on another #mealprepsunday Involving her in the process of cooking brings us all so much joy! The recipe for this dough is super simple and it makes a big batch so we can all have pizzas or flatbreads or naan all week long. The recipe works to make all these variations of delicious homemade bread. And at only about 250 calories per serving you can really enjoy adding different toppings to suit your calorie and macronutrient needs. I usually go with some kind of sauce, lots of lean protein, a little cheese and enjoy it with a simple salad on the side. Remember there is no need to deprive ourselves of wonderful things like pizza when we are trying to live a healthy lifestyle. We just have to be aware of our potion sizes and enjoy eating plenty of veggies, some healthy fats, and lean protein along with it.🤗 I am all about getting and staying healthy for the longterm, so that means no extreme restriction or fad diets.💛 Here’s the recipe👇🏻
Makes 10 servings
750 flour (I used whole wheat stone ground)
2 tsp Himalayan salt
1 tsp yeast
2 tbsp Olive oil
3 cups of warm water
Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl except for the water. Then slowly start incorporating the water 1 cup at a time into the flour with a large spatula until the dough still seems a little dry and crumbly. Then, with your hands, knead the dough for a few minutes until it forms a smooth ball. Let the dough rest for 15-30 minutes. Now your dough is ready to be portioned into 10 pieces that can be stored in ziplock bags in the fridge for up to a week. (Freeze if you can’t use them in that time and thaw the day before you want to use it or just make a smaller batch🙂) Whenever hunger strikes pull one out, spread the dough on a cookie sheet and top with whatever you like and bake at 375f for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown. Enjoy!😋

It’s been a while since I’ve been implementing more and more turmeric in my daily food, beauty products and more ! But why is that?👩🏫
🍋 Tumeric contains an active compound called Curcumin, which is highly anti-flamatory. It helps to relieve pain in joints, muscles and more!
🍠 Turmeric also has anti-microbio properties. I sometimes use it for face masks, as it will kill off different kinds of bacteria, like acne. You will see your skin glowing!
🍊Turmeric supports detoxification and it is very high in anti-oxidants.
🌼 Turmeric has been linked to improved cardiovascular health. Researches (by Wongcharoen) say that people who took turmeric had a 65% lower chance of heart attack.
🌱 In 2013 a study stated that ‘the chemoprotective effects of curcumin highlights its therapeutic value in the treatment and prevention of a wide range of cancers’ Shehzad
💪 Curcumin is poorly absorbed in the body and has minimal impact on blood levels when taken alone. The best thing to do is to take it in with some black pepper, it can improve the bioavailability of turmeric up to 2000%.
🤙 Will share you later on how to get more turmeric in your diet and how to use it in your daily beauty routine!

Funky Kalakar is the result of a love for all things handmade. The owners went on a search for indefinite artists, and together botched a collection of bags, accessories, and shoes. They produce their goods with natural and recycled materials. The brand works with several charities to give opportunity to the disadvantaged and donate leftover fabric. (Link in bio)

I get so annoyed when I meet people stuck on fad diets, so I do try to stay open minded and do my research and put time into understanding all the pros and cons of as many approaches as possible.
●I have had a cardiac arrest
●I have had 2 strokes
●Dementia and memory loss runs in my family
●I have PTSD, ADD, ADHD
●I have Asthma
●I have anxiety, depression
I also take absolutely NO Medications currently, however after my cardiac arrest I was under doctors care for a long time. Had epi-pens, puffers, took singular (asthma pill form of medicine). All if these symptoms, problems, health risks have subsided due to balanced and proper nutrition. And steady exercise. Doctors said I'd be on meds my whole life and never should or could be active. I truly believe disease and inflammation or any other negative effects from health issues can be largely avoided, fixed, improved or cured by the continuous efforts of nutrition and activity. Its never too late to start, and hell it might not fix EVERYTHING but if I can go a day without an asthma attack, panic attack then thats a win too me. Instead of relying on meds, while they help try to help yourself as well.

Can you guess what I made this with???
Juice pulp! I juiced some apples and carrots using my slow juicer, and with the remains I made this cookie thing😂
To the pulp I added some buckwheat flower, raisins, and cinnamon and then baked them at 350f for about 45 minutes. .
My biggest issue with juicing was that I always threw out a lot of remains, and to me it felt like wasted food. So now, whenever I juice, I make these cookies and all the food is used up.

All of these are taken from the same acre or so.
See all the water harvesting earthworks???
Permaculture teaches us that we need to retain water in a landscape not send it away!
With small earthworks we can slow it, spread it and sink it into our soil as a water tank.
Hydrating our land, orchard, garden and pastures.

I treasure crafts. Things made by someone’s hand. This kitchen towel is an inheritance from my grandmother and I appreciate the handwoven material and the hand stitched monogram. The time it took to make, and how long it has lasted, makes it special. I think there is a satisfaction in making things by hand and also to use these object. A quality lasting for decades is also good sustainability and it is comforting to know that is possible to make things which can last long. 🙌
Today I was experimenting with making making squash and almond pudding. It is amazing to still be able to use regular squash which have been hanging around since September! 👍 #crafts#arthurpercy#vinrankablå#slöjd#vintagechina#handworkembroidery#handwoven#sustainableliving#slowliving

I love learning about new zero waste, sustainable, healthier ways of living 🌱 Whether it’s replacing toxic cleaning products or regrowing veggies on my windowsill I’m addicted to learning and sharing about these high vibe ways of change ✌️But on social media sometimes it looks like suddenly people are living these perfectly sustainable lives and I am here to remind you that it doesn’t always work like that 😬 This mason jar full of thick muck was SUPPOSED to be a beautiful homemade dish washing soap made from a grated Castile bar of soap 🤷🏻♀️ It’s a terrible consistency, leaves gross marks on the dishes and is just a mess but I tried and learned 🤓 Suggestions to fix this are welcome 👐
@mallowsustainability Want Your Food Waste!!! Mallow Sustainability is the creation of Jessica Lindsay who owns a small farm at Anstead. Inspired to do something about food waste and grow their own organic produce, they collect food waste from local businesses and homes, take it back to their farm and make beautiful compost with it!
They can take your food scraps too! For only $4 a week, they'll give you a big bucket to fill, collect it weekly and give you a 10L bucket of beautiful compost back each month to use on your own garden.
With the average Brisbane household sending more than 260kg of food waste to landfill each year, just imagine what a difference you can make! When you put your food waste in your council wheelie bin it goes straight to landfill and this valuable resource is lost and has negative environmental impacts. When you give it to Mallow Sustainability, you're helping to build healthy soil and grow beautiful organic food.
If you don't have a compost bin at home, please jump on board with this fabulous service and support another local family at the same time. Once they are growing more produce, we hope to source some of our fruit and veggies from Jessica's farm - what a beautiful closed circuit that will create!
To start having your food scraps collected please email Jessica at [email protected]

Not only are microplastics filling our oceans, they are being digested by all kinds of animals. Including us 👫
They enter our food chain as they’re consumed by fish. Resulting in us also digesting microplastics, which contain toxic and carcinogenic chemicals 🦠
Microplastics are the tiny fragments of plastic which have degraded, from larger plastic produce. They will never biodegrade, and will always be on earth with us. Think about that next time you buy single use plastic or don’t recycle properly ♻️

“There are a ton of stereotypes about kids from the Middle Eastern and North African regions. The stereotypes aren’t exclusive to a Western context, but also an internal context where kids are competing with these outrageous expectations from their own societies. People are desperately seeking spaces where they don’t owe an explanation and can candidly be themselves."
