An artwork in progress shot from yesterday in the studio. I have followed my inspiration and started painting a crystal chandelier (got the idea trying to get a detail shot of our ‘cutlery’ one in the kitchen a few days ago). Early days still, but it is starting to appear. It felt a bit lonely in the art studio this week, as my friend and fellow artist @stephfonteyn (who shares the studio with me) was not here. But the young Richard Burton (who lived in our village Céligny for many years and is buried in a tiny forest cemetery here) and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kofi Annan (two portraits she is presently painting) kept me company. Have a look at her feed to get a glimpse. And, as you can see in my photo, one of my ‘cup cows’ was keeping an eye on me as well 😜
Our Greengrass band WILD MOUNTAIN @wildmountaingreengrass has a new EP out called "Wild Mountain Country". It is available on @spotify@iTunes@amazon - if you are not familiar with the band please give us a listen. We take a mixture of country and Bluegrass and mix it with Celtic folk melodies - creating "Greengrass" music. This EP leans more on the country side of things. <*><*> Follow @wildmountaingreengrass for daily Greengrass updates.
Fantasy vs. Reality ->
(swipe to see my current mess of a studio)
Just wanted to remind you guys that everything you see on social media has been heavily curated to seem perfect and put together - like a wonderful fantasy that is always too far away to reach.
In reality? It’s actually a hot mess (honestly, we’re all really a hot mess in some way), so please don’t spend your days trying to reach for something else, live your own something - whatever it may be - and know that somewhere out there, there are those who quietly dream about your something.
Tag a friend who could use this reminder while I get back to work preparing for #nationalembroiderymonth - aka, one of my something’s that I love so very much. Are you excited?! I can hardly wait. // 📸: @ambergreenphoto
