This was what I was looking at , when I was drinking my tea sitting on a stone bench in this old man's shop. I was the only customer at that time on that hot afternoon. I was watching him cut vegetables to prepare lunch orders for the afternoon. He served lunch for a small group of workers who transported tyres at the adjoining factory. Lunch for just them. And himself. And his helper boy who had gone to run an errand then. Other than that , he made and sold only tea.I watched him work.
He turned back to see what I was doing and smiled. I knew I had to leave. When I got up , I wanted to share with him my thoughts, thoughts that were inspired by his amazing tea. Wanted to say my thank you. So I blurted, "romanticism is such an underrated thing. It is so beautifully painful that I feel overwhelmed just thinking about it"
He turned away with no expression. I paid him for the tea and was going to leave when he said , "no one knows romance like Raj Kapoor. I only wish your generation watched Raj Kapoor movies and knew what love and romance is"
I was delighted !!! Exactly what I am saying , I said. Exactly!! #random#teastories#tea#roadsidetea#streets#storyofthestreet
