Feeling so grateful for the time I got to spend outside this weekend ❣ I beat the sun to the top of a mountain twice and put in little over 8 miles with my pup leading the way. Hike 3/52 is down for the year. I cant wait for all of the adventures to come!
Also all of these snow shots came from a trip up to gold creek a few weeks back with @vinhtportraits -hes amazing and I love all of them, sorry not sorry for sharing them all 😂
One thing I read before we went to Morocco was that it was very important to always have small change for the beggars. You didn’t want to get caught in a bad situations and believe me there were many opportunities. Everywhere you go there is someone harassing you and sometimes quite aggressively. We had to learn a phew phrases such as “la choukran,” or “hashouma” meaning “no thank you” or “shame on you.” In this clip we had stopped at a small village. Some of the clay homes were over a 1000 years old. You can see the trail of children following behind begging for dirham. Being the heart felt humans we are, you better believe our pockets were emptied on a regular basis. I’ve never felt appreciation such as this. If you know me at all I am in love with ALL babies, so when I saw a tired mother selling little jackets with her two babies (very late at night on the streets of Marrakesh) I couldn’t help but give a little extra. By this point of the trip we were really missing our kids so we would stop and relate to any and every child. After handing the women a small coin...she then gave it to the toddler...it was like I had giving her Christmas for the very first time. Her face lit up with awe. It was small change for us...seriously cents...but would probably feed her family for the rest of the week. And yet another humbling experience.
Ann is running the Negative Split and Windermere Half Marathons this Spring! Read her inspiring story below: ⠀
"In 2013, a friend and I signed up for the Negative Split 5k – I hadn’t seriously run since high school, but figured it’d be a fun challenge… and who doesn’t like medals, right? Being an over-achiever, I showed up an hour early and got to watch the half-marathon runners start. At the head of the pack, there were the people who looked like what I always pictured half-marathoners to look like –all legs and muscle, coming out of the gate like cheetahs. But then there was the rest of the pack: kids; people who’d committed to walking all 13.1 miles; people who started at jogs, at speed-walks, at various non-cheetah-like paces that I could see myself holding. If they could do it, so could I! 6 years later, the 2019 Negative Split and Windermere half-marathons will be my 15th and 16th halfs. It turns out they’re addictive! ⠀
I will never be the fastest runner out there, and that’s OK. I try to run more than I walk, but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the scenery at mile 9 at a brisk stroll. I’ve run a sub-2-hour half and my knees have broken down and I have shambled those same 13 miles in well over 3 hours. My ethos is that it’s not about my time, it’s not about being the first one across the finish line… it’s about showing up and doing the best you can that day, on that course, with the body you have at that moment. The hardest part is always starting – once you start, you WILL finish. Also, it’s just dang cool that your feet can literally carry you between cities!" ⠀
Let's leave Ann some words of encouragement below!

Following Your Dreams Means Getting Your Feet Wet... Life is hard, chasing our dreams is hard. Making what we dream a reality takes more than wishing. We have to get our feet wet and venture into unknown waters to get what so many only dream of.
