It's finally autumn - the perfect season to spend your saturday morning in bed with a great book and a hot drink, while it's raining all day. Just perfect!
I can't wait for Halloween to come around. I love to read some dark fantasy or even thrillers around this time of the year but it is also really cool to read some spooky classics like Dracula (which I really enjoyed) or Frankenstein (which I haven't read yet). OOooh, I am just so excited.
QOTD: What are your favorite books to read around Halloween/fall? Do you have any recommendations for some super spooky novels?
P.S. 'To Kill A Kingdom' wasn't a super dark fantasy novel, but I still really enjoyed the twist it took on the original fairytale. I am just in the mood for some great pirate stories recently, which is why I had tons of fun with this book.

Einen schönen, gemütlichen & herbstlichen guten Morgen wünsche ich euch 🍂 Ich melde mich aus genau dem Ort hier - wie es samstags mittlerweile Tradition ist, natürlich mit Käffchen in der Hand. Herrlich so Tage, die einem alles offen lassen, weil man einfach nichts geplant hat.
Well it’s 03.20am in the UK and I am wide awake - oh the joys of fatigue. You are totally exhausted, hit your pillow thinking tonight will be the night I finally get 8 hours sleep, when you turn over check your phone and find you’ve been asleep less than two hours. What to do in the dark hours so you don’t wake up your entire household. Well you go on the internet, search Facebook for a fun story and go over and over the stories in your insta whilst begging for tiredness to hit. The problem is all you are doing is stimulating your brain, keeping it awake so you try sleeping. An hour later of watching the inside of my eyelids confirm sleep is not coming anytime soon. Where do I go from here? Out comes my kindle and I try a spot of reading (paper white to avoid blue light - I’m learning ) but my book is boring me and still sleep is so far away. I search for sleep related quotes to add to my feed and keep myself awake typing into my phone omitting huge amounts of blue light. I know that no matter how hard I try to take my mind off sleeping, there it is lurking in the corner keeping me awake. I lie in bed and stare at the walls and notice that light has started to appear outside, a new day is starting and just like that my exhaustion returns and I fall into a deep sleep, only to be woken up by everyone else who has had a great night and are ready to start the day, when all I need and want more than anything is sleep. This is my life and my nightly routine. You’d think we’d gotten used to each other by now! Good morning and good night zzzzz.
