CHANGE - that’s my word for 2019! #oneword
Any one else choose a word for the new year? I chose #change because I want to make positive changes in my life this year. I have committed to changing my morning routine so that I begin each day with a healthy start by journaling, meditating and working out. I am changing how I plan my days by making #selfcare a priority. I am changing how I spend my free time by planning more quality time with family and friends. I am also excited for the positive changes in my professional career as 2019 will be the year I complete my masters in applied positive psychology from UPenn and will continue to be a change agent within the education field and beyond-inspiring, empowering and celebrating others! So many more positive changes in the works as well.😊💖
Often CHANGE is not perceived as a good thing. It is usually thought of as a response to a problem and that is one way to view it, I choose to view it in a positive manner; especially after spending the weekend in grad class learning about Appreciative Inquiry from David Cooperrider and digging deeper into resiliency with Karen Reivich.
It all depends on the questions you ask. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, ask, “what’s going well?” Strength based change comes about when the focus is on appreciating life and shifting to a positive change…”what do you want more of?”
Make changes to welcome more of that into your life!
